      <content:encoded><![CDATA[The 650N Mec reloader didn&#039;t come with a way to resize the Brass base of a shell. But, is there not a way to add a resizing ring and tube over the de priming pin assembly!<br />

I would think there would be away to accomplish this modtification. What have you seen in all of your years!<br />

I bought this at a garage sale, not looking at it real carefully as it was a clean as a new one.<br />

I shoot some Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays. With the cost of Lead Shot continuing to go up and up. I like the smaller loads of shot. It&#039;s amazing as how well these lighter loads work!<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Once fired 20 gauge HS hulls. A friend told me he had part of the base wad stick in gun barrel. So I started to pay attention and then remembered I&#039;d seen the before. Recently I dumped a bunch of once fired AA HS 20 gauge on my reloading bench a low and behold look what showed up. See Picture. Be reminded this is behind the powder and the regular wad. Anyone had any issues  ? As I recall there may have been two generations of HS hulls ?<br />

 Fired this 12 gauge shell, broke open the gun to pull out the shell and only the Brass came out. The body of the shell separated from base and is stuck about 2” down the tube. It’s in there very solid! Best ideas on how to extract it? I considered a 12 gauge sized dowel but this is a choke tube gun (CG Summit Trap) and the dowel would have to be thinner than the barrel wall due to the choke tube shelf/seat assuming I’m working this from the the...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I opened my first keg of Perfect Pattern powder, and following the recommended numbers from Hodgdon I used a MEC #18 bushing looking for 16 grains but that only gave me 13.8.  Fortunately I also had a #19 bushing, closer but not 16 grains.  With a round file and sandpaper I was able to open it up enough to drop 15.8 - 16.2 grains.<br />

I was loading WST with a #30 bushing to get equal, (1235), FPS so this stuff is quite dense.<br />

Unfortunately, I weighed a few charges and most came in around 525 grs. That&#039;s awful heavy as 492 grs. is the standard 1.125 oz. load. I&#039;d say Eagle either isn&#039;t #8 or possibly 8.5 or the Antimony content is pretty low. That said, I dumped out the Eagle and replaced it with some West Coast and it weighed around 495 grs. I&#039;m not happy with Eagle...<br />

On the stripped-down MEC Sizemaster, I deprime, resize, and reprime hulls and build a stash of such hulls. I adjust the MEC collet so these hulls are just retained by the Spolar dies. I do this because:<br />

One small problem is, the plastic tray they come packaged in is too large to lay flay on the primer feed of my MEC progressive presses. He said it looked like when the bar holding powder and shot was in position to have powder and shot dropped in it the holes didn&#039;t line up. I found several published loads for 1 oz shells - varying from 1175 fps to 1225 fps and pretty low pressures (8,900 and up). I&#039;ll be loading REMINGTON Gun Clubs and Claybuster CB-1100 wads with Cheddite primers.  My manual calls for 19.5 grains.  It takes a #30 bushing to get that powder weight. I loaded some up tonite and plan to shoot them tomorrow.  It will be interesting to see if they will cycle my autoloaders - Remington...<br />

I read over the book that was sent with my unit but it really did not say how to adjust for seating primer deeper or adjust shaft weight correctly snd the set screw in the bottom of the shaft weight to get nice and flat . Can anybody direct me how to do this correctly after i tried to do it and messed up the adjustment of my primer seater?]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I’ve exhausted my supply of Win 209 and CCI Primers so I started tonite’s loading using Cheddites.  I’m using the gray AA hull.  I noticed I had to lower the primer/powder tube slightly to get the primers to seat fully compared to the former depth setting I had used for Winchester and CCI primers.  Assuming the slightly larger diameter of the Cheddites is causing the primers to be a little more difficult to fully seat.<br />

Will this result in the primer pocket being “hogged out” and those hulls no...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I’m just starting to go through the process of loading my first 16 ga hulls.  A benefactor provided me with three different brand hulls and some wads.  I chose the Remington hulls to reload first because they have an 8 point crimp and the crimp starter in my reloader is for 8 point hulls.<br />

As I began the process I noticed what looked like brass shavings on the reloader at the deprime/resize station.  The Remington hulls are apparently steel based with a brass coating.  I don’t reload steel...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[When using cheddite primers in once fired Winchester hulls the primers are hard to press in but go in ok, the problem occurs when pressing out the Cheddite primers to reload again.  Using a progressive loader (Spolar) when pressing out the Cheddite primer the bottom of the brass becomes convex (bulged) and the primer hole oblong, when the new primer is being pressed into the primer hole it cannot be pressed into the hull sometimes being pressed sideways into the hull. Has anyone else...<br />

Last week I received the bars back from MEC with an invioce just stating the change bars were within factory specs, not so !
