I am planning a backpacking trip for this upcoming November. I'm hoping to do some small game hunting... fox and coyotes at the largest. I'm seriously considering buying a 22 rifle and want to hear your opinions on which one to buy. I'm NOT looking to spend a lot of money. MY 300WM is my target rifle and money pit haha. So this one will be my budget rifle that will only be used on short backpacking trips for small game ONLY. It probably won't ever get shot past 50-100yds.
Thanks!

Now 3 generations have harvested with it. My Dad has harvested countless caribou, a Dall and a brown bear with this gun. Special memories and great to have him with us in spirit.
Knocked down every one. Just one was a leg dropper. Great day great gun!

by the way- great pheasant recipe.
Sautee Serrano chili slices in butter. Remove.
Add oil to the butter remaining from chili sautee, coat pheasant nuggets in flour, fry.
Put in baking dish, put a little fig...

On the weekends we aren't attending a shoot we love to head out in pursuit of Lake Trout. My preferred method is downrigging. There is something about the humming sound of the downrigger cables slicing through the water and seeing a rod pop when the lure is pulled free of the release that really gets me fired up! And not to mention seeing fish come up on the graph making a beeline to the lures tracking across the screen then seeing that rod pop when the lines on the graph meet!...

Back when I was 7 years old I began helping the guys on our lake band ducks for the Feds. (1956).

they had formed a group known as the Canandaigua Lake Duck Hunters, and were asked IF they would help out for a period of 3 weeks banding the ducks for the feds.

47 years later we were told they had enough information, and told we could abandon the banding project.

The leader of this group was a man named Rodge Case, a Bee Keeper who led the group for all those 47 years.

I became the secretary...
