They were done in a registered event, to determine a winner.

Ok Gary what if they were recorded and say you had a handicap shootoff. Say you ran 25 straight in the shootoff. Another 1/2 yard punch just for a shootoff ? Just saying

Aren't targets recorded in 50's, so what would you do with a 25 in shootoff?

It you stop shooting an event before you start the second sub-event it would be "registered" as ??X25, or ??X50 when shooting 10 per post.

"Shoot-off" targets are not considered part of the "program" targets, and would be a "bonus" for the best shooters paying the same entry money.

If that ever happened I wonder what the ata would charge for them.

The common sense reason would probably be over the many years of existence there was never a need found to make them part of the completion of any program or at some time they would of been included ... The possibility of those odd numbers reflecting on ones record can do nothing but confuse people sooner or later .... If shoot off targets were listed separately from the targets in the program it could and would simplify things over time once its accepted as the normal way of doing business but until then they would be another head ache for people doing the classification unless another line was added to the records card and they were listed as such ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
