SCTP Scholastic Clay Target Program much larger than Grand American Trapshoot...

The Trap and Field magazine was caught by this forum lying about entries years ago. They said they inadvertently doubled the number of entries. wink wink They were forced to print a retraction. History repeats itself....

In two weeks the SCTP will hold their National Championship at the Cardinal Center. The Singles event alone will have around 3,000 shooters. The Championship week will have 10,000 entries.

There are other youth shoots close to the same size.

For every shooter I would estimate there at least two additional people. The SCTP event is a huge family and team event. The crowds at Vandalia were smaller.

In two weeks I will take pictures of families with four shooters, mom, dad, grand parents. There is a coach and team scorer for each squad.

Trap and Field staff recently said the Grand was the largest. Retraction time? The Grand American continues to shrink despite the SCTP feeder program.
