Just out of curisoty....has anyone loaded shells with crossman BBs??.....Have a few large jars of Crossman BBs....thought I'd try a load. I have read that it can damage your barrel.....any thoughts???

Yep every season I have a few boxes loaded up ! I like 2 3/4" straight-walled hulls ( Cheddites) loaded with 32 grs of A steel , I try to get 465 gr payload
or 108 pellets but 104 or 105 works just fine ! I use these on Spec's and Snow geese over decoys out in open pastures , works for me !
    I do use a Multi-Metal wad mostly as I have a good supply ! A .015 choke (LM) works for me !

BB gun BB's are harder than steel shot for waterfowl loads. I've been reloading steel shot since it became mandatory for waterfowl and all I've ever used came from Ballistic Products. I think you can scar your barrel shooting BB gun shot.

By using a Quality Wad for steel shot , barrel scoring is pretty much eliminated ! Also with smaller payloads loaded in over-bored barrels , Airgun bb's
will do a good job but , only the patterning board will show you what's best !
