1952/55 browning double auto 12ga, 1 of 4 documented REAL light red receivers. this is NOT a shameful reproduction offered currently by some browning gunsmiths in the gun market today. its real mc'coy. it is currently offered as a 3 bbl set, a 26" recessed rib skeet bbl is installed with the rarely ordered or seen factory 3 bead sighting option. the other 2 bbls are 28" MOD recessed rib and 28" FULL recessed rib. the modified bbl is the rare wider channel experiment for trap, which was suppose to allow more shade when sighting down the plane. stock has the correct ram horn buttplate and the inspectors 'T' mark is visible and not filled in on the bottom of the grip. all papers from the browning archives are included. this gun was part of the BOD selection process to determine the winning colors to be marketed and produced. all the ones that didn't get a passing grade for the catalog, were returned to the warehouse and destroyed. red did not get picked. some made it out into public. this was one of them. this one got sent to a western auto hardware store and is documented as such. gun comes with all written points of contact along the road of its journey. the serial number and color is listed in browning archives and documented. a copy is provided. the correct era double auto owners manual accompanies this gun. the homemade bbl display frame is included. a true BCA gem, extremely rare and coveted, 98%OA. minor surface dings and scrathes from 74 years of handling and enjoyment. as is, lower 48 only. ffl to ffl.................25,000.00
