The ATA Executive Committee has developed a partnership with the MidwayUSA Foundation to support the ATA's AIM youth program. Through the MidwayUSA Foundation's Endowment Programs, funding support is provided to youth shooting teams across the nation, as well as, organizations that share a likeminded mission of growing and sustaining youth shooting sports. The ATA's newly created endowment will provide long term funding for its AIM youth shooting programs and initiatives. All contributions made to the newly established Amateur Trapshooting Association endowment will be matched by the MidwayUSA Foundation. This matching program is possible because of generous donations from Larry and Brenda Potterfield, who have a passion for youth shooting sports.

MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director, Randy Moeller, said, "This partnership will strongly benefit youth involved in ATA's AIM program for years to come and will also generate growth within the youth shooting community. The long term funding generated will used to grow the AIM program and initiatives." Randy is an ATA Life Member and his past professional experience has included leadership positions at the NRA, USA Shooting, Remington and Cabela's.

    The ATA and MidwayUSA Foundation
Along with matching donations, the MidwayUSA Foundation offers items to their participating
organizations, at no cost, to use for fundraising. The ATA will take advantage of this opportunity and when proceeds from the fundraisers are donated to the ATA's MidwayUSA Foundation Endowment those funds raised will also be MATCHED. The shooting sports industry is very fortunate to have the MidwayUSA Foundation and the Potterfield family as benefactors to the youth and future of our sport.

    About the MidwayUSA Foundation
MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that was created in 2007 by Larry and Brenda Potterfield with the purpose of providing annual funding to youth shooting sports teams and organizations. The Foundation is the custodian of endowment accounts from which a team or organization may request an annual grant of 5% of their earmarked endowment balance. These funds may then be used for team or youth program expenses. To learn more about the MidwayUSA Foundation, visit midwayusafoundation.org.

    About the AIM Program
The purpose of AIM is to provide a safe and positive experience with firearms and registered trapshooting for youth, elementary school through college age. AIM encourages good sportsmanship and personal responsibility through competition while establishing the foundation to make trapshooting a lifelong avocation.

Simply amazing. They turned down Midway 5 or 6 years ago when most of us felt they should have bought into the program.

I asked a Vice-President the reason why. He said it was not in the best interests of the ATA but couldn't answer why or provide any negatives. This Executive Committee was wise to accept the partnership in my view and its great news for the youth shooting program.
