Yours is an old wives tale. The ejectors have a screw in them as do many hundreds of K80s. Great barrel

What is the top single choked ? Any barrel porting? Have you measured the bores and chokes yourself ? where are you located ?

I think you meant mid 4000 range serial number , not mid 40000 as less than 10,000 were made—- also groups of serial numbers were reserved / skipped
