Why did Winchester Stop 452AA Powder? Great for AA Hulls

    You know I am old when I am not over Winchester ending the 452AA powder.

    I find that when I really like something it goes away...... True in this case

    it was a dirty powder.
    it was replaced with cleaner powders.

    Win 452AA was an excellent ball powder and was quite popular back in the '70's for duplicating 12 ga 2¾ dram equivalent - 1⅛ oz. AA reloads. It was a clean burning powder and metered very well and unfortunately for some unknown reason Win discontinued it.

    700x and new winchester powders required less to achieve the same as 452aa....and they were cleaner. i use to use 452aa in my rem all american hulls and the rxp's way back then. great stuff but filthy.
