MX8 Nickle Receiver and iron for sale

I have a beautiful MX8 type 4 receiver and iron set for sale. The receiver has been professionally Nickle plated I believe in Rome NY at Perazzi.
The receiver has been completely rebuilt by Wiz White with all new springs, firing pins, and locking block.
The iron is type four and has slight blue wear but overall nice. Presently both are in Perazzi wood with the stock having a new kickeze pad and adjustable comb and LOP of 14.5"

You should change your description.
You have a type three receiver and
Iron for sale not type four. Your serial
Number is 37xxx. Well before type fours
Were ever made. It does make a big difference
In what your asking price should be.

 

Jim, the receiver was fitted with type 4 iron which is there with the forend and the barrel I used on it was a type 4 MX-10, maybe someone converted it to a type 4 at some time but I know I built a type 4 Doubles gun on that receiver. Whiz White fitted the type 4 barrels, I assume it can go either way with the correct iron and barrels.

 

I did some checking and type three barres require type three iron and wood. I built it as a type 4 and the serial numbers on both the iron and receiver match so I can only assume it was upgraded at some time before I acquired it. Interested parties are welcome to make an offer and I'm throwing in the forend and stock as part of the package. Don

 

I have been asked to add pictures of the wood the forend and receiver is presently mounted in and a picture of receiver face so here they are... Don

 

Please post a picture of the face of the
Forend iron. Your receiver is old style,
With the top lever button at twelve o' clock.
Type four or type three is determined by the
Forend iron. Need to see the face that engages
To the knuckles on the receiver.

 

As requested, I took pictures of the forend face showing the 2 screws of a type 4 and also the mounting in the forend wood which shows it is definitely type 4 and both the iron and receiver have matching serial numbers... Don

 

Looks like Type 4 to me.

 

Type four it is.

 

The forend is a T4 but the action remains an early T3

 

Receiver looks like a Comp 1 to me.

Type 4 forend iron should start at 51000 +/-

My guess would be that it's a type 4 iron that's was either new and mated to a used receiver and stamped to match, or was used and was renumbered to match the receiver.

Has value and he should be able to sell it
To the right person that might be putting
Together their first Perazzi. I was sure in thSame position not too long ago myself. The price

The new style wood forend $250-$400
The Perazzi drop out stock $250 to $500
Now a type 3 receiver fitted for type 4 barrels is $800 to $1200 if you can find one.
The up grades having the receiver completely rebuilt was $800 not counting the nickel plating
