Merlo did a poll earlier about whether ATA IL Delegate Lauren Mueller, should resign due to a conflict of interest. Her decision seems to agree with Merlo’s poll.

As many of you have heard, I did fill the Executive Director position for the WSRC. I started mid-January. Because there would be a conflict of interest and I'm going to have a lot on my plate, I decided to resign from the IL Delegate position. Bill Duncan was the 2nd alternate for the position, so he will be stepping up and taking on the role. That being said, this will be my last article. I want to thank all of you for the support along the way! I truly enjoyed my time and will still see you around at the shoots!

Once again the EC of the ATA can't slip one in on the members.

If it weren't for members who care, they would do anything they want and get away with it.

I'm sad for Lauren, but the EC should have known better than to put her into this position in the first place before it got this far.

What position did the EC put her in,she applied for a job with the state of Illinois and got it. She resigned her delegate position because of conflict of interest, which was the right thing to do.

I'm sure she simply dropped out of the sky and the EC never recommended her even a tiny bit. Boy, am I naïve!

I think the young lady did the right thing, was it the smartest thing for her to do only time will tell ... The position of Executive Director of the WSRC will no doubt pay better than the position of State Delegate and have many more benefits ... The young lady may of been called on to do something or achieve something that has been established over many years , which would be get increases in the attendance ... I would be willing to bet there is no man, woman, or child alive that could do that ... It will be interesting and I wish her great success but truly feel it is what it is and it will be the same or less 5 years from now as many of the older shooters die off or move on to other shooting venues or places that offer more Bang for their shooting Buck and less traveling on a daily basis ... WPT ... (YAC) ..

Do you think there was someone more qualified that applied for the position.

The membership does not get notified of any of the ATA business and or operations, so it would go without saying the membership would not be notified of the State of Illinois hiring someone ... If anyone thinks the ATA did not have an opinion and some say so in it, they would be dreaming ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
