Joe, Just wondering what time your last shooter finished. Congratulations on having a very successful shoot. It keeps being said that at this point in time the shooters don't want to shoot for money. It seems that in our neck of the woods that the calcutta's and the meat shoots go much better than the registered one's do. Maybe it is because it seems to cost less to shoot this type of events. Targets seem to be priced for these events mostly in the .25 to .35 range where the registered targets seem to be mostly .35 to about .50 per target plus fees.I realize that there is cost for the record keeping, but I'm wondering if a lot of the shooters are more willing to spend money on options than fees?

Hello Dave! Hope you are doing well. I think the last field cleared about 5:30. We had lights on. Originally we had 30 squads, but with the weather to the south, and flu going around, we ended with 112 shooters. If we would have had 30 squads, it would have been a super long day, with many finishing the last 50 under the lights. I think I'll have to put a 24 squad limit in the future. I had everyone pre squadded ahead, target requirements checked, and opened the club on Friday for practice and pay window, which really helped on Saturday. Great bunch of shooters, lots of good stories told, raised some good funds for the youth program on 3 raffles. Ladies in the kitchen and cooks did an outstanding job, it takes a lot of help to pull this one off. I hear you on the cost of targets. We are really trying to keep the cost down, throw more targets, and serve the trap shooters. Our open trap shooting on Tuesday and Saturday is where we make the money to pay the bills, no paid help and no awards. Those days allow us to hold ATA and meat shoots, many times at a loss.

It was my second trip to Williams Co and first time for this shoot. Definitely worth the trip. Everyone working this shoot was top notch. The score keepers to the kitchen help all did an amazing job. Thank you for all you do.
