Ohio vs Illinois ‘03 Grand Attendance vs Now- No support from Illinois? Why?

In 2003 Ohio had more than 1300 shooters at the Grand. Illinois had less than 480. Ohio was the host.

Based on those numbers alone you might conclude the host State(s) would have mega turnout. If that were true there would have been at 3000 shooters in the GAH.

Why didn’t Illinois step up to the plate? Who saw this coming? Were there clues?

 

The ATA ignored the will of the membership ( according to polls ) assuming the shooters from closer to the immediate area of the new facility (WSRC) would make up the difference and probably even increase the over all attendance ... This has not happened in the past 15 + years even one year when Lynn ( The Talking Head ) Gipson made claims they were headed in a "Fantastic Direction" they ended up doing a belly flop ... The ATA spent a bunch of the members money to get an evaluation of property's and due diligence established only to be ignored when the front runner was not what the ATA EC, BOD desired that being Illinois ... The Strip Mined property acquired from Peabody Coal by the State of Illinois could not pass "Due Diligence " , so they opted for a lease to circumvent the requirements ... That could be considered to be "Manipulation" (deception) in its finest hour by the State as well as the ATA ... The ATA collected money on each entry prior to making the move that was designated for a relocation fund and for the ATA to seek and find a New Home for the ATA and Grand American, that accumulation of money got spent on new "Pat" traps that the members were never advised of until after it happened ... It appears there are no longer any laws to eliminate the deception as presented to the Members of Organizations ... The WSRC has proved once again they cannot draw a crowd so its business as usual and the members get screwed again ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
