I have had this gun for a long time. I recently decided to shoot it. On a hot day or on a fast squad this barrel heats up. It is a top single. Remedies please.
The 90T is a heavy barreled gun. The bigger the bore the less the heat wave. You can bore the barrel larger. There is a lot of metal there. The early barrels were close to .760. Also the rib is very thick. If you have a top notch machinist you could make it thinner.
Or, you get a hand towel. Poke a hole in the top left corner, put a 2” book ring thru the hole, wet the towel with cold water, ring it out a little and clip it on your belt. Depending on how hot it is that day you either wipe the barrel between stations or between traps. To save time and all that work with the hand towel you can just buy a “shooting towel”. You use the same procedure with either one. Now, if the club has water coolers on the line you can, besides re-wetting the towel, get a cup, fill it from the cooler, and pour the cold water down the outside of the barrel. Then wipe it with the now re-wet towel. The down side to the wet towel method is your leg will get wet. So I wouldn’t hang it in front of your pants.
