12 gauge Mowrey Shotgun with 31 1/2" octagon barrel for sale. Made in Olney, Texas. Bore is bright and shiny. Has Bicentennial medallion in stock. Gun has inscription on left side of receiver: "MADE FOR R. H. "HILLY" SAILER". Mr. Sailer was a trap champion from Oklahoma and was the founder of the Trap Shooters Hall of Fame. The gun is in great shape with a few dings and small scratches

Saw this on a muzzleloader site, anyone know of Sailer?

Hi Kenny, Can you give us a run down on Mr. Sailer? I did not know him, but I have heard of him. Roger C.

I should have grabbed this. At $275, including shipping, it was a good deal and if Sailer is a founder of the HOF perhaps this 12 ga belonged in the HOF. It sold a few minutes a go.

Haven't been able to find much yet on this man, but I am sure History Buff will have files on him.

I may have missed something, BUT when i looked for the history of the Trapshooting Hall of Fame on their web site, there was NO history of their beginning to be had.

I know Jimmy Robinson and Betty Ann Foxworthy had a lot to do with it's origin, but there is NO mention of the beginning anywhere that I could find.
