Democrat Governor of Illinois Fate of Grand

Now that Illinois have elected a Democrat Governor will the anti gunners shut down Sparta? What are your thoughts?

 

Could be a problem if he targets the IDNR.
However, all he has to do is raise taxes and see how many more good people he can run out of the State.

I would not count on any improvements being made at the facility any time soon ... That is probably as bad as things could get for the future existence on anything to do with shooting in the State of Illinois unless they can tax it beyond reason ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

In the real world, a Democrat Governor knows without a doubt, completely shutting down "Sparta" and going after a 'shotgun charity' will not cost any Democrat votes, but gain them support ......

In Kool Aid drunk ATA Land, the save "Sparta" at any cost crew will continue to proclaim this will not make any difference in the current "fantastic direction", and refuse to start a new "relocation" effort with help from some new faces .....

 

I might disagree with some here. Sparta is already gutted. Poorly designed and there isn't a dem or rep there that cares. Both parties can claim they have the backs of gun owners without spending a dime. Nope. No change. Slow death as designed by Bradford and the rest of the gang that got guns following the move.

Sparta today will be slightly less next year. Only slightly. The EC ponies will be ridden slowly over the cliff with little change.

 

I wonder if any off the brains on the EC have even given this issue any thought. Here is an article from the Toledo Blade (a Democrat Paper) about the former home of the grand (OHIO) and how we voted in Tuesday;s election. The Cardinal seems safe.

 

Are there any state jobs left at the shooting center in Sparta? That would be the only hope - a Democrat is never going to cut a state job in IL, so from that perspective he might just keep Sparta open for that reason, but then again he will probably shut the place up and let any employees left collect a full bennies pension.

 

Brad it is good to see Ohio turning red. As a Hoosier I always felt a little uneasy being around all those liberal Buckeyes when visiting the state to shoot the Grand or State Shoot. I always had to remind myself when heading east and crossing the state line - remember this is Ohio the state that elected Howard Metzenbaum the most rabid anti gunner of his time.

 

Elsie, most of the Liberal's are from the Cleveland area. The anti hunters tried to shut down the Ohio dove season a couple of decades ago and every county in Ohio voted to allow us to kill the bird of peace, even the one's around Cleveland.

I think Ohio is really more Libertarian at heart than they want to admit. Most don't trust government very much. At least the one's I know. Maybe I just know a better class of person than most. Brad

Don't forget Sparta was started under Ryan a republican and finished under Blago a dem and Blago was followed by Pat Quinn another Dem...besides JB Putszger/Madigan (Gov elect) is more concerned with legalizing pot than anything..
State of Chicago city of Illinois...if it doesn't effect Chicago it's most likely off their radar..

 

Wait till the rest of Illinois comes under the bullet tax .It is only in Crook County but I am sure it will be expanded with Gov Prickzer.He might even remove all the toilets from the complex..Might even go to pay toilets.When you vote you get the government you deserve.Madigan,Prickzer,andCullerton the unholy trinity.

 

Sure would like to be in that first meeting when all the new people find out what the WSRC is.
