The OSTA Ohio Trapshooting Association and Charlie Pidcock

The OSTA is failing Miserably Appointing Qualified Ohio Hall Of Fame shooters While they are still alive, and feel the recognition, one in Particular was Charlie Pidcock, whom I Reccomended 3 times several years ago, who recently passed away.

The real problem is present shooters and HOF committee did not know his achievements, and he was still running a Trapshoot Range Known as Route 13 gunclub in Chauncy, Ohio.

He should have been inducted in the 1980's

I mailed a list of his accomplishments of Grand American wins, Ohio State Wins, and other Out of State wins, Such as Southern Grand that his wife Carol Pidcock gave me, Requested by OSTA after my Recommendation several years ago.

Limiting HOF numbers is ridiculous, especially w/number of deserving Members, that should already be in it, This is not a Select Celebrity contest.

I'm guessing that Mr. Pitcocks records would speak for them self , he obviously earned a place in History based on what you have said and posted about him ... I'm guessing sooner or later Mr Pitcock will be recognized and given what he is due ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

A good many of us were saddened by the passing of Charlie. We as directors do the very best we can with the responsibilities given to us. The hall of fame has its own set of committee members. I am very pleased that Charlie is being inducted to the HOF for 2017. I agree it is regretful that he passed away without knowing the honor that was bestowed upon him. I am hopeful that Carol will join us for his induction. Both Charlie and Carol were instrumental in my love of the sport.

Trouble with inducting too many each year is that eventually you run out of diserving inductees.
