Wouldn't trapshooting be better if we got rid of all the re-do rules. No more flinches, misfires, slow pulls, bad ammo, bad triggers etc?

Trapshooting was supposed to be like hunting right?

Google is your friend. Tells you all about how it got started.

The only thing we really ever hunted was which shoot had the most money offered

Were you a Hunter? What did you do if the pheasant didn't fly when you were expecting it?

Not atypically, the rules and how they are interpreted by clubs and shooters are at odds with each other. Specifically, if you look at VII C.2 and D.1, you might scratch your head. IMO, most of allowed FTFs these days are actually covered by C.2 but to avoid yelling, screaming or whatever, are allowed under the first clause of D.1. Talk about parsing language! Of course, that could be fixed with better language, but heh, anyone who has ever been around any rule change discussion knows the typical answer to any suggested change is a polite or not so polite "shove off".

How many re-do's do you get in the woods? Gun doesn't shoot the bird gets in the way.

How does it work in the Flyer shoots?

It all depends on how many times the “puller” calls,

Dont ever remember a slow call on box birds.Sometimes the damn bird wont take off and if shot in the box the one in charge of the shoot will call a no bird.Tom
