Speaking of the Vandalia days, I believe in the beginning the beer stand served Huedapohl, then there were the Bud years, followed by Miller lite. It was truly a shame how it came about that Budweiser stopped doing the beer stand at Vandalia. Yes, in my opinion all the large shoots should have a beer stand for the comradery, and stories to be told after the shooting is over for the day. In Ohio Yuengling or Budweiser might be a good choice for a sponsor.

During the Budweiser years they put a great amount of added money into trapshooting, not only during the Grand, but in state shoots and satellite grands. Also Loctite passed out a lot of their samples for several years during the Grand. When Vandalia is mentioned on these posts it just brings back so many great memories.

Can we compromise and just call it a BEER tent?
Seems like every time a large corporate sponsor gets involved, they take away all the fun.:)

M Johnson, It was just a beer stand building at Vandalia, but over the years that Budweiser furnished the beer at very little cost to the ATA and all the added money that they put into not only the Grand and Satellite Grands and State Shoots it was much more than just a beer stand. I believe that most shooters from those years will agree that it was The Bud Stand. The bottom line here is Budweiser created lots of fun for the sport of trapshooting during those years. I can't believe that you are of the opinion that because Budweiser was a sponsor that they took away all the fun. During the Budweiser years as the shooting started to wind down the Bud stand started to wind up and it was the place to be no matter if you were a beer drinker or a non beer drinker. The stories and camaraderie was unbelievable and created so many great memories for so many shooters.

Shooting up in Massachusetts in 96, won the Budweiser Handicap which run concurrently with their state handicap. I believe the added money was $500. Won that and the hat. My gosh where did the 30 years go.

i dont drink. it wouldnt effect my participation at a shoot.
beer ruined a lot of my friends and family. id give the tent a wide berth. i dont like being reminded of what beer does to good people.
    just my humble opinion.
