    I have a mx2000.
I have another stock I want to try.
How much torque do the specs call for?
    Thanks, Ted

It needs to be fit to your receiver before you start worrying about the torque. Fail to do that and you're begging for it to crack, potentially catastrophically.

And there are no torque specs for gun stocks, just "tight".

Good question? What is just "tight"?

Most people will know by feel, it's something you learn from experience. If you don't, have someone that does show you. Somewhere between "stock rattling" and "stock cracked". Usually its when the wrench stops turning and you don't have to start putting body weight into it.

Snug but not gorilla-tight. You're not trying to win a strongman competition here. The goal is to have the stock seated firmly against the receiver with no gap, but you absolutely do not want to crush the wood.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll just snug it up like my 870's in the past.
