A local sporting clays club has raised their prices to the following:

    Targets 65 cents
    Carts $40.00
    Gun rental $40.00
    ammo-$16.00/box $17.00 for premium ammo

Makes trap shooting look like a bargain

That’s a gut punch. 65¢ per target is straight-up steep you’re looking at $65–70 just for a casual 100 bird round, plus $40 for a cart and another $30–40 if you need gun ammo. That’s easily $150 for one guy to go punch some clays.

Trap skeet at the usual $6–8 per round 25 birds plus cheap ammo suddenly feels like the budget friendly move. No wonder folks are calling trap the new bargain!

If it’s your local spot and you love the course, maybe worth it once in a while, but at those prices it’s turning into a special occasion thing rather than a regular shoot.

in my opinion they have ruined the sport. Pricing is stupid.

Its about 50 miles from Disney, grab the tourist money, it might sound like a bargain when compared to Disney

They must not have updated their website. I was thinking about going there to shoot today. Of course all the snow birds are coming down.

I went and shot Blackjack on Saturday and Sunday it's a nice place. I went to shoot practice and spent most of my time on the super sporting course and the blue course. I thought the targets were very good. I will shoot there again. Saturday seemed somewhat busy and Sunday was busier.

As far as pricing goes, yes it's expensive. With other clubs in the area according to the websites are in the .55/ per target. I don't know what gun rentals and golf carts are at the others.

In my local area targets are .30 ish and no golf carts, no paved path, no target counters (your an adult, be honest). Good place to shoot but the price reflects what you get/ don't get.

Will I return to Blackjacks, yes, when in town. However other places, just on a pricing stand point, look more attractive even tho the drive to them is a bit longer.

As, Tallulal Bankhead said, you don't mind getting screwed as long as you're enjoying it". Its high "season " in Fl, businesses have to make their money now, before the cheap skates arrive in the summer.

I can't see as how I got screwed. I know what they are charging and I know what others charge. I made a decision to shoot at a higher price close to where I am staying.

Facility near me with multiple games charges $44/100 for sporting and $8.50/25 for trap or skeet (that’s $34/100). They’re the high side. Most other facilities only throw trap and it’s $7-8 a round.
