Lately I've seen the yildiz pro and the kilzakaya guns at a recent shoot. Haven't seen or heard anything much about them. Handled both, and the price tag on these guns has peeked my interest. Age and health issues prevent me from spending what it takes to buy new. But, at the price pt these sell for, maybe. Anyone shooting either of these ?

The Yildiz Pro while not so popular here in the states seems to be very popular in Australia. I saw many of the aussie's that were shooting at the grand this year and they said they loved them and that they were very durable. They look to me to be very similar to a Perazzi MX2000.

Yildiz ProStar is not your typical Turkish gun or even Yildiz. If they were smart, Yildiz would've marketed the gun under whole new brand to avoid the stink of Yildiz. They're a pretty close copy of fixed trigger Perazzi MX12s. The rear of the receiver is shaped differently (actually an improvement that reduces the likelihood of stocks cracking). The sideribs are silver soldered, which is an improvement over Perazzi as it means they're not going to shoot loose. Maybe a couple other minor differences. The forend iron and barrels can be fitted to Type 4 Perazzis. Quality of the wood is actually better than the base wood on a lot of Perazzis. The only knocks on them that I could see is maybe the fit of the wood wasn't quite as good and maybe the bluing was quite as nice as a Perazzi, but still pretty good. If I didn't already have my Perazzi MT6s, I'd probably pick one of the ProStars up, especially if I found a good deal on a used one.
