It will soon be "Pothole Season". That's when today's trapshooters get to whine about the potholes at the CC. I am not saying the holes won't be there.

The Tri-State had more than just potholes. You wouldn't take anything nicer than an old ford pickup with a 300. Four wheel drive and a high suspension was perfect. Some folks pulled campers. Only a few dared take an RV.

You had to drive with an eye on the high wall while the passenger watched the cliff below.

I am guessing today's CC shooters have some RVs valued at $300K. I am not sure that outcome would be good.

The CC has near perfect trap fields and clean showers.

The dust from the strip mine at the tri state probably kept the mosquitoes in check.

The Tri-State didn't invest much in all the fluff. There was money. Lots of it. Gambling. Lots of it. And the targets sucked. The walkways were narrow ditches with their own eco system.

The CC could spend a few hundred thousand $ fixing the lot. Which model is better?

Where would you rather shoot? Whine about potholes or brag about the falling rocks you avoided?

I think the Cardinal Center would do well to invest in penny slots ....

Forget infrastructure .... people will be so happy winning lunch money with pennies .... they may even shoot some Events ....

Or ........... some may be soooooo skilled .... they may never shoot Trap again and just be happy with the lunch money ....

Hey flyers .... stay on topic and tell everyone your opinion of the Cardinal Center from your personal experience .....

I can tell you I have not only shot there, I talked to Joe there in person .....

Butt-hurt seems to be you when Tron and Hunter44 invited you over to their playhouse, and you refused because you have no power there and couldn't take it .....

I liked it. shot 4 rounds of practice there years before the curtain. We were comped at the Hollywood Casino near Columbus and I wanted to see the place. It was only 45 minutes away. I missed 2
I thought everyone and everything was perfect.

BTW, I could log onto any trapshooting site I wanted to today. Never banned from anywhere. Funny you should mention the two biggest jagoffs as though you know them.

If the shoe fits and Birds of a feather.
    Just sayin.,,,

Are you saying you broke 98/100 .... and didn't shoot any actual Events ????????

I never said you were "banned" ..... I said you refused ..... because no mod powers ..... you just wanted it to happen here where you have mod control over "being owned", as you say .....

I'll type it slower for you. I DIDN'T WANT THIS JOB. Joe said he was making me a moderator and that was the end of it.

And yes, that's what missing two means. Broke 98. If I wasn't shooting pigeons for all those years and hadn't shot a target, I probably would have ran them.

Why in the world would I have any kind of discussion with two of the biggest Aholes on the web?
It’s bad enough I have to deal with their buddy on this site.

That garage gunsmith tried to troll this site on 1/05/2015
I busted him and he hasn’t had the balls to come back since.
Wasn’t he the guy you were sticking up for with this little gem?
"He is just a smart ass like lots of us" ....
I fit that, except some call me 'dumb-ass', or some call me just an ass.

Like I said before, if the show fits

The other moron, hunter 44 said we wouldn’t be here for 30 days. I called him on that one and he tucked tail and ran. Who do you think we are laughing about when one of us says, "it sure is a long 30 days. Or, that's the longest 30 days I ever heard of. He's just a wannabe troll like his hero.

Moe, Larry, and they are looking for the third stooge. I have a pretty good idea who that is.

Maybe you should read slower and not feel the need to type slower .....

Your job as a mod has become a detriment to the site .....

Really ..... You are the World's best penny slot player, and now you say one of the best Trapshooters ....... "I probably would have ran them." .....

If you really didn't want the mod job, do the site a favor and give it up ...... or ...... at the very least stop with the hate Trapshooting posts if someone wants to post anything positive ....

You have zero interest in Trapshooting .... so, go bankrupt the Casinos and let others say what they want about Trapshooting without your bitterness ................

A 98 in singles makes someone one of the best trapshooters? Maybe to you. That explains a lot. Break 98 in singles and people don't even know you were there. Especially now since they changed the speed and angles. In the words of the great Dan Bonillis, "Now, anyone can break a good score".

Break a 98 to tie for high score in doubles at the Tri-State, or a 98 at the Grand doubles and people know you were there.
Break 97 from the 24yrd line when 98 is high with 3,259 shooters on Preliminary caps Thursday at Vandalia. That's about 1200 more than the friggin GAH gets now.
Six of us with 97's for a shoot off. Miss 2, get third place, get your picture and a little ink in Trap & Field, and people know you were there. After the Grand issue comes out and people are shaking your hand and congratulating you for a month after, they know you were there.

I still shoot Trap, I never quit. What I did quit was paying the ata. And I'm not bitter. To be bitter I would have to want the ata to go back to the way it was. That will never happen. I don't give a rat's ass what they do. I said it more than once on this site. I hope they keep that little shoot they have in August at that White elephant forever. Every time I see those pathetic numbers I laugh. Knowing you are there donating to the ata and not winning anything just makes it more enjoyable.

I didn't leave the ata, the ata left me.

You should have been around 10 years ago. Back then we had a FEW guys that thought it was OK to poke a mod. I wonder what ever happened to them.

BTW, nice not needing 50 posts before you can sell or buy here, isn't it?

It says this under your posts .... "Flyersarebest. But I'm still a Trap Shooter" ....... are you sure the "still" would apply ??????????

And you always post ....." I didn't leave the ATA the ATA left me " ...... when did that happen ?????? 100 targets between 2000 and 2005 and they left you how and when ?????

My best guess is they got tired of you .....

"Now, anyone can break a good score" ............... well .................... hmmmmmmmmmm .....

    IF .....
someone shoots 100 targets in a six year period ..... and breaks 77 ...... is that .... "Now, anyone can break a good score" ???????????

Targets were probably too easy ........

I just repeated what one of the best of all time said right here on this site. “Now anyone can break a good score”. You can argue with that, as if you know better, but I won’t.

3,259 shooters. 24 yrd line. Harder targets. Kids in the houses. Move 10 traps. Kids in the chairs = 97x100
That got me 2 yards. The next registered shoot, a few weeks later got me to the 27.

Less than 1500 targets to get to the fence.
You skipped over the 98’s in doubles at the Grand, when it truly WAS the Grand, and the Tri-State
    Convenient that was huh?

Hey if you broke a 77 in singles maybe you should practice more. It might help, maybe not. Some people just suck at it.

Myself? I didn’t shoot a registered target from 1999 until 2006 when one of my buddies talked me into joining for a charity shoot his club was holding. Broke a 98 in singles. Then the storm came and my cap score, from the 27, wasn’t that great. Didn’t really care since I only rejoined to help the club.

Six years later I joined again because 4 of my old squad members ask me to shoot with them.
I didn’t own a doubles gun then so I had to borrow one. Now, I did the same thing the year I tied for high in doubles with a 98 at the Tri-State but it was the same model 3200 I owned. You like to dig around so go back thru my posts and you can read the story about that shoot.
This time it was an old Superposed that didn’t fit at all and broke a 78.

I did break a 99 in singles at one of those shoots we attended. After all those years, missing only one.
Looks like Dan Bonillis was right.

When you shoot a good enough score to win a trophy at that August shoot they have at that place in ILLnews, and get your picture in Trap & Field, let me know.

    So endith the lesson.

My favorite part was when he said he shot an AVERAGE of 4,000 singles, 3,000 caps, and 2,500 doubles per year. He must compute averages differently than most…

    I agree .....

He doesn't read very well either .....

That 77/100 was his handicap score in the target year 2000 .... could have been shot in late 1999, but shows in the 2000 target year ...... the only targets in the 6 years the ATA left him, and that is prior to them leaving other people in 2006 .....

I don't know if "Joe Lebert " picked up on the threat of what happens when you "poke a mod" .......

Great shooting- what year was it that you won the trophy at the Grand? What gun/shells were you shooting?
