Guess I'm probably in the minority on this one. But nowhere in my mind did I imagine that the definition of NO TAX ON TIPS, O\T & SSI would be an income tax rebate/deduction, especially from the Trump administration. I suspect it was those bat rastards in congress that duped me again.
instead of forgiving student loans, This could be a better way young people can work and earn money to stay debt-free.
As a young person this was drilled into my head." interest keeps poor people poor , while it makes rich people richer"--don't buy anything unless you can pay for it without taking out a loan
guess you'll never own a home, or a car. Credit is a great way to improve your life style, and build an equity for the future.
Owned all our houses no mortgages, ever, currently drive an Audi & the wife has a Mercedes, Bought everything we ever needed with money we saved and earned on the interest it created --dividends & interest have given us a great retirement
Don't really know how this relates to the topic. But good for you. I'm am quite sure your experience is quite the exception and far from the rule. I knew a couple in my youth that practiced that same rule. Of course that was in the 70's and didn't seem impossible. For someone like me and mine, who started from zero, it seemed impossible.
My parents always said to ask three questions before you buy anything on credit. Do you really need it ? Is it necessary? And can you live without it ?? I have no idea what my credit score is and always tend to pay cash when I can. Cash keeps the government out of your business. Always pay cash at the liquor store , no phone numbers or email account..Your car insurance companies check your credit card purchases and also charge by zip codes. No Cabelas or Bass Pro shop charges either..
