Family Guy you post pictures from the SCTP shoot but never tell what's going on. Also the Central Zone shoot, no reports there either. Are you a member of the fake news now, what;s up? Some of us here need news not pictures. Pictures are great for the kids us old guys need info.

    Brad.....
I will give you a report on the SCTP National Championships. It will have to be in several parts.

    How big was the shoot?

Remember this.....Bigger than the Vandalia Grand. The SCTP doesn't have a 5,000 person event on a single day but the crowd dwarfs any day at Vandalia. The event is set up like a whole bunch of soccer games. There is a start time for every squad. It gives mom, dad, siblings, and grandparents, time to stake out a place to sit. Trapshooting a spectator sport? Not since the "Grudge Match" right? A kid can have a dozen family members watching.

Then there are the tailgate tents that can line both sides of the cart path.

There are over 4,000 kids at the event. Doing the math is nearly impossible. There were Singles, Doubles, Skeet, Sporting Clays, Super Sporting Clays, and Five Stand running all day. The place was packed.

I would not be surprised if there were days with over 12,000 people on the Cardinal Campus.

    About the Ugly....

The Cardinal Center and SCTP marketing program is an awesome success story. Unfortunately part of the Cardinal Center's marketing and design has included a path for "Golf Carts".

Vandalia had those awesome hay wagons. The world is different now. Kids have cell phones, personal golf carts, and HUGE ATVs. The CC makes money on golf cart rental. $80 a day!

It seems kids today are above walking to trap a line with guns and ammo. They wouldn't like Grouse Hunting in the Hills of Ohio. No cart path?

Last year one of three parking spots were taken up by a trailer or ATV. That number was lower this year. The dust and mud kicked up by hundreds of ATVs and carts reminds you of dirt track racing. It's fun. The kids enjoy it. Be prepared to wash your car.

    The bad....

Calling the shooters athletes that need a golf cart to get to the trap line is a bit over the top. Just my opinion.
