Receiver has bluing wear and no upgrades - great one to have nickeled or customized. Upgraded stock appears to be San Remo grade or better. At least the forend wood has been refinished at some point leaving the red stain in the diamond (that I think looks nice). Skip line checkering is strong.with very little, if any wear I personally have not refinished this stock. 29” bbls do not appear cut but factory original (excepting the chokes) it has been reblued. I have a call into KI to confirm. Krieghoff 1 bbl case included. $3000 and I will part out as follows. I will consider trades for ball detent K80 28” or 32” flat tapered factory CT’d bbls. R&I - $1500 29” bbls + 4 chokes - $1100 Wood - $250 Case - $150 PM me if interested. I am happy to provide more pics or do virtual inspection over face time.
I owned a k80 years ago that came with a numbers matching 29” set of barrels. Had never seen such an animal before and until now, haven’t seen a second set. Wish I would have kept it as they were a great set of barrels. I got caught up in the 30” and 32” trend and that 1” difference ate at me. Stupid stupid me. Great value/pricing on them. GLWS and good shooting, Rey
Spoke to Elmar last week, He could not tell if barrel is factory or not based on SN. Need to get it to someone with more expert eyes than me. I am about send something else to Don Baughman. I’ll have him look at it. More to come….
I have a set of 29" barrels that I know are original pigeon barrels. They were a catalog item at one time as I recall.
Here are pics of the muzzle and one with 32/32” and 32/28”. The spacing looks very similar to this 32” and 28”. Would appreciate anyone opinion on if factory original or not. There is a size 3 hanger on 29” (which 3 or 4 seems to be standard). But then again many 32 hangers are not marked so the hanger might not be original. With no chokes And being mindful all were aftermarket choke tubed which surely reduced factory weight: 29” Weight is 1469 28” weight 1446 32” weight 1571 everything points to factory for me (except the aftermarket S-26 chokes). Any ideas on how to determine factory barrel weight. It is not stamped…. would appreciate anyone’s opinion. Curiosity more than anything….
The fact that the rib isn't flush with the muzzle says factory barrels to me. If the barrels were cut, taking that little bit out of the rib would be extremely difficult to do without damaging the rib, barrel, or solder, and pretty much entirely unnecessary, so I don't know why anyone would bother doing it.
