What question did Family Guy ask that got hundreds of shooters banned from OSTA meetings?

So I see in the 2025 OSTA Program that we have to have registered so many targets already at an Ohio Gun Club attend the yearly OSTA ATA meeting. Regardless of lifetime membership? Yep....pretty much said that!

So I ask others at the shoot. Answer: Family Guy asked a few sensitive questions to the Ohio Delegate. .

So someone tell me what questions could enrage the OSTA to muck this up? Gotta be good questions! Got popcorn?

    Jim....
I asked the Delegate a question about ATA Executive Director Gipson's contract. I was miffed about all his bonuses that reportedly put him well over $200k.

The question.... what is in that contract that is in the best interest of Ohio Shooters?

I was shouted down and had to show my receipt as member of the ATA.

A few years earlier OSTA President Miller said the Delegate doesn't have to answer questions.

That can't be right can it? You mean that since I haven't shot ATA in the calender year I can't attend the meeting even though I've been an ATA life member since 1975, in the OSTA HOF sonce 1997, the ATA HOF since 2000, a past board member of the OSTA for seven years, a past OSTA president, and the TD for 6 years at the OSTA and the CC I wouldn't be allowed in. Never mind that I have registered about 400,000 targets give or take a few I can't attend the meeting. What are these current Board members afraid of?

If I wanted to attend I don't think anyone on there would have the balls to keep me out. These are a sad bunch, I don't respect trap shooters today.

Brad, why should this surprise you. It was just another case of dislike and jealousy. They didn't remove Randy Wilhelm from the HOF they just took his picture down and removed his name from the state shoot program. Then they added a completely stupid paragraph to the by laws that any member who didn't live like a SAINT after induction could be removed if the HOF policeman didn't like them. Until things get back to following rules and procedure of operation we shouldn't be surprised about anything. Maybe they are just following the democrats play book at least they seem to act like it.

What are the requirements to attend the annual meeting?

Interesting. Isn’t voting for delegate and director at large part of the annual meeting? The annual meeting isn’t adjourned on Friday night, only in recess to allow voting on Saturday. If a member hasn’t shot targets in the current year, are they prevented from voting?

If you haven't registered a target yet and you aren't permitted in the meeting then you cannot nominate someone?

I don't think the OSTA has a leg to stand on in keeping a dues paying ATA member out of an ATA organizational meeting at the state level. The OSTA is made up of gun clubs and there is no individual osta members, just clubs and ata members. But dumb asses need no reason to do dumb shit stuff and can get away with it until someone files a complaint with the ATA. If you care file the complaint and the Ohio ATA delegate has to answer.

Actually it more specifically states you have to have shot or shoot at the gun clubs in Ohio. That would exclude Ohio residents that shoot exclusively in the south. Example Silver Dollar. That would be regardless of life membership.

I know a lot of Ohio residents that don't shoot in Ohio.

Whatever the definition of targets or how many targets trying to exclude persons because of the questions is silly. I am sure family Guy doesn't care.

Don, it probably doesn't matter as much wether you have registered targets this target year or not as much as it matters if you are in good graces with the click. The names and faces change, but it seems that quite often there is an inner group that believes that they need to be the movers and shakers instead of being a unified board. Should one member be a director, a alternate ata delegate, and be on the hof committee, and another board member is also an alternate ata delegate? Why does the president pick the vice president? Shouldn't the president and the vice president each be voted on by the zone directors and not be quite possibly appointed by the buddy system? There are rules and procedures that should be in place and they should be followed to the letter, not how it was done in the past wether it was right or wrong. If the truth is told and the rules are followed most generally things work much better.
