SCTP - down 350 shooters but still a record number

    The SCTP National Championships had around 350 shooters withdraw from the event. Reasons: cancelled flights and gas prices.

    The number at the event are still up from last year.

    I wonder how many shooters fly to the grand at Sparta. There used to be a good number fly into Vandalia every year. The Sparta shoot seems to be a camper shoot. No fly in and no day drive in shooters.

    Shoot attendance is down this year just about everywhere. Flying anywhere is a crap shoot. Who knows where you end up at before ever getting to your destination.
    My wife, daughter and grandkids left this morning for Florida. They are driving rather than gamble with airlines and my daughter has some air line miles to use but said , no way. Biden could screw up a 1 car funeral. He has sure destroyed our economy and in only 1 1/2 years.

    Our shoots at Mason have been up a bit this year over last, even with a shrinking population. But still a ways off the numbers we had before the 2008 financial crisis.
