Just curious as to what you would do if you found your most desired gun..ie unicorn? Would you try every way known to man to pinch every penny to buy it, or pass on it till funds were right there?
What would it take to get it?....just wondering.

I would try every machiavellian tactic known to man to get it... But wait, I'm building one right now!

If it's truly a "unicorn," passing on it probably isn't an option to be considered if you can find a way to afford it...unless you're willing to wait years (maybe decades) for a second shot. I've got a few unicorns in mind that I would be willing to spend good money on, but everyone's got limits.

Like you look online every couple days, then all of a sudden 1 pops up, then another. The temptation....oh the temptations.

Lost my unicorn 55 years ago -- Browning Diana grade -- instead I bought my first wife an engagement ring --- don't have her anymore, but I am sure I would still have that gun!

I happened to be hunting at a preserve of one of our well known forum members. While I was out working my dogs a gentleman stopped by the clubhouse with an original Winchester Model 12, 28 ga two barrel set. MY UNICORN GUN!!! The owner of said hunting establishment snapped up the dandy little gun in the blink of an eye. Needless to say, that gun is not for sale. I will admit that the gun’s current owner lets me look at it every now and then. I always have to wipe away the drool before returning it to the safe. I can only hope that I outlive the guy and his widow will sell me the gun. So close to my unicorn, but yet so far!

Happened to me a few times and i always pinch the saving and buy it. I can work a little harder and cut down on other thing to recuperate.
Live your life and enjoy the thing you want and love. how many years do we have left no to get our unicorn mostly when its front of us.

My finely engraved DT-10 trap combo is my forever gun. Bought it for a real nice price. (for that quality of a gun) and been shooting it for 20 years.

That "stitching " really makes it look good.

The proud hunting preserve owner of Don's Model 12 two barrel set, full and cylinder, matching serial numbers 28 ga first year of production unicorn needs to point out to him that every model 12 collector has the same unicorn.

I do like to let Don hold it once in awhile, but I don't think I can trust him to hunt with it but I am going to let him use my pre war model 42 (1934) next weekend since he seems to have a taste for one of those too.

30C6780E-7F4E-4074-ADFA-F10E2E720DF8.jpeg I would buy this gun back in a heartbeat. Out of all the guns Ive gone through this is the only one I regret selling.

It’s a DB81 special combo, anyone know where it’s at?

If it's your unicorn, passing it on is definitely not an option.

I always wanted an LC Smith Crown grade to shoot handicap, and a grade 8 Parker to shoot doubles.

I got lucky a few weeks ago and found my Unicorn. So I made the deal and it is now in my safe.
Ljutic X Gun. Since covid has happened there are very few of these out there. I can see why people love them.
I shot a 24 with it the first time I shot with it. It fits like a glove. These are going to sell like hotcakes.
