Anyone have any knowledge of the New ATA President ?

Guess I haven't followed ATA close enough to know about this Darryl Hayes fellow.

Never heard much about the ATA this past season with Paul not being allowed into our country.

Did anything new get accomplished ?

My few interactions with him have been nice. Unlike other ATA BOD people he always smiles and waves. His family shoots with him, and he is from the Detroit area and can be found at Mason frequently. Even seen him a few times at the Cardinal. I'm not holding my breath, I really hope a Midwest guy can provide some leadership.

I asked him a question once and got the cold shoulder.

Just wanted to know if he had heard about the guns that were stolen from his Dad.

    Sorry attitude.

Really good guy with a very tough job (high up in the Detroit Police Department). Long time member of Michigan’s Birmingham Gun Club. His wife and Father also shoot. At Mason and the Cardinal Center for almost all shoots.

I have spoken with him at Mason several times and he seems like a nice man. I wish him well with his new position.

I’m not sure if ljutic329 ever served as a sub mariner. Maybe you have your numbers mixed up as far as members sign on names?

BTW, ljutic329, I wasn’t the one that deleted that remark. I would have but another mod or admin beat me to it. We don’t need the bad press.

635g was a proud member of the silent service. You can see his boat in another thread or just google submarine 635.

Just sayin, if you are going to take a swipe at a guy, make sure you have the RIGHT guy.

Most MI shooters know or know of Daryl, he seems to pop up everywhere. At trap shoots and on Detroit TV. I don't know how he finds the time being a father to young children, a precinct commander, an avid trap shooter, and now ATA President. I believe his brother, also a trap shooter, is ranked in the fire department. Congrats Darryl!

I met him at the Indiana state shoot in 2020. He was looking for me to give me a patch because I had shot my first 100 straight the day before. He is an outstanding man. He was great to my 11 year old son as well. He even invited us to shoot with him at the Grand that year. He is around at most of the big shoots. He is always dressed in nice slacks and a collared shirt. He dresses and acts the part for our president. His father is great and friendly as well. We are in good hands!

I met him in Mason Mich. at the State shoot a few years back. (Puts on a fish fry every chance he gets.) Nice Guy, very friendly. I think he would give you his shirt, if he thought you needed it !!---JMHO !

I have learned the first order of business at the last meeting was a decision to keep the delegates’ votes a secret.

Which of you fellows above want to discuss this guys integrity after that?

We don’t need statmans stats. Mr Hayes has never asked for a roll call vote that I can see. (Minutes)

Why can't you name the new ATA President's complete name, is this a Consipiracy? I'd like to know his name, as I am a dedicated life member.

I want to Know his Damn Name, and length of ATA Membership, is he a life member?

It’s on the ATA website Doc. As far as I can tell your Life Membership holds no more weight than an annual membership.

I believe you are correct unless you'd like to become a state delegate or alternate delegate, or member of a committee, etc. a life membership is required.

alf174 your correct, at one time Life Members could vote on ATA business but that ended long ago, not sure what year that ended.

As Hillary said….at this point what does it matter?

The new ATA President was OK with the secret voting. The MI delegate was OK with secret voting. So who cares if the secret votes are cast by life members?

ALL the delegates were OK with the secret voting or they would have had a rollcall vote.

Doc did you join when life members could vote? What year did they do away with that?
