    Something different....

Somehow the front bead backed out and finished the round without the bead.

Interesting enough, shot a straight and two 24's without the bead and removed the center bead also.

Thinking of not replacing them it too...

    Regards,

Went to the Virginia state shoot one year back in the 70's and posted a lone 100 in the singles race with no front sight.
The front sight was off when I walked to the line. The day before I posted a 100 straight at some club in Maryland when during the shoot my front sight came off, just kept on shooting and concentrating on target and keeping head on stock.

My beads are on the gun but completely blackened out. They are not there for your eyes to look at. A lot harder to be bead checking. Leave them off

the need for beads goes away once a gun is fitted and is pointing where you look.
ive shot countless games with my bead gone.
but it is still nice on occasion to look down and double check every so often. especially when changing seasons and jackets.
but (knowing) its gone can drive you nuts and distract you. you start thinking about the tread size and if your smith has one...instead of shooting birds.

No bead raises the impact. It's likely you needed a higher impact in the first place, Removing the front bead proved it. Put back on the bead and raise the comb or adjust the rib and you'll break just as many. BTW, if all I could break was 24's I'd go home and kick the dog.

I totally agree with you. I'm going to shoot it a few more times, but have a new bead on order and is not a LARGE bead diameter either.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yup, the smaller bead can sure help with raising the impact a bit. Try it!

I was told by one of the Big Dogs who give clinics, lessons, are sponsored, makes out ($)shooting to remove the beads off of my gun or black them out ... I looked at his gun he had beads and they were not blacked out ... I put a Meadows site blinder on mine with a bright green insert on it, change it to red for a few days from time to time ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
