What is the difference mechanically between a K80 logo gun and a modern day K80? I must be one of the few that like the logo gun vs today's K80's. Just wondering what issues I might have if I purchased one.

    Thanks in advance.

I am not a K gun expert but I thought there was a difference in ejectors between those made in the 80's verses today's K guns.

There has been a lot of updates on K-80s over the years, I believe at least 4 different Hammers and sears designs for one, I used to know the serial #s.

I am going out on a limb here and say ser #s over 20,000 were the better K-80s.

I believe Hal Dupont told me this years ago at the grand, at that time he said these
guns with 21,000 & higher had latest updates.

These were the Engraved Reciever sides, Vs K-80 logo guns.

But that was in the 1990s,

They now use the year as part of ser #s

I have a K80 logo receiver manufactured in 1988, and a standard engraving pattern K80 receiver manufactured in 2006. The logo gun has been updated over the years, and is now essentially identical to the later gun, except for the external cosmetics. As Dr. L. pointed out, it originally had a different hammer design.
    You can't go wrong.

Earlier barrels had ejectors secured by a screw, the later by a ball detent. I have barrels with each, and each is fine.
You can't go wrong with any K80.
