Does anyone know if their new shot (with 8% antimony) is available for reloading? Source & cost? Thanks.

I highly doubt it is for sale yet. Winchester hasn't sold shot in years.

Just a thought... I didn't think copper coated shot was allowed by ATA rules. Can anyone clarify this for me?

    So, you "DOUBT" it.

If so, why would a company like Winchester produce it for sale as trapshooters ammo? The question was "is the shot available....?"

That was my point I guess. Since I posted, I looked and sure enough, according to the current ATA rule book, a contestant cannot use loads that contain nickel or copper coated shot..... so like you said, I wonder why Winchester would make it. Although on their website they have it listed as sporting clays ammo, I wonder if the ATA will enforce the rule. As to whether or not it is for sale, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Why don't you just call Winchester and ask them? let us know if it will be available.

  9. It's not...those new diamond grade shells are designed for competition sporting clays which allows copper plated lead.

Just trying to compete against the game shooter with #6 shot 1700FPS loads - got to go where the money is!

Naturally the harder the lead alloy shot is the better ? As I cut open a few Diamond shells with 7 1/2 copper plated
shot , it was easy to see , some was plated but not all ! The shot size seem to be +or- but what was interesting in this
1 oz load was , the Wad ? It was no different than a CB 1118 with a 1 oz cup as I was expecting a cork filler or a cushion
of some type ? The powder was a large flake type , that kinda resembled Green Dot with no green flakes . The only
indication this shot might be more dense than Remingtons 5.4 is those unplated bb's could be something other than
Lead ? Maybe this is another BS marketing ploy by those crafty advertisers like EMI's ?

  13. It's good ol fashioned marketing. This shot tested to not be as hard as regular AA shot.
