I own three Stihl landscaping tools and have had great success with them, but I never owned one of their chain saws. Been looking at a 18 " Woodsman or Farm boss. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

They don't make a bad product in my view.

I use a Stihl 170 around my home and do a little wood carving with it. Nice saw, easy to start, and a powerful little bear.

I have a 251C 18 inch. Great saw - has cut alot of firewood and some big road blocking storm damage.
Very reliable and easy to handle. However , its limited to 16/18 inch blades which can get tricky on the
really large stuff like 20+ inch oaks. Looking back, I wish I had gotten the " Farm Boss " model- its just
about the same size and weight as the 251 but has a little more horse power and will take 16/18/20
    inch blades.

Great saw. Read the manual carefully. If you don't use it much like me, use the expensive no-ethanol gas from Depot.
