Thinking about removing the Delrin rib that Dennis Devault put on one of my guns,

Does anyone know how to remove it ?

Dental floss, or fishing line drag it under the attached rib and move it slowly back and forth (sawing motion) then use a solvent to remove any adhesive residue ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

There is a video on you tube that shows how to do it if you have any questions ...

I would guess it depends on he type of rib as well as what was used to mount it. If it is a straight stick on the rib with double sided tape as I believe Dennis used, I believe the method WPT above mentioned would work. If the rib is a cap (on top of rib and covers the sides) I would try heating it with a blow dryer to loosen the tape/adhesive (similar to automotive emblems) and gently start prying from one end as the heat/adhesive permits. Let us now how it works out for you. Good shooting, Rey

Its a cap, covers top and sides-,would a heat gun on low be OK--I'm playing with 682, I've been trying to sell--may end up parting the gun out

Also important to know if the beads where removed or the rib was drilled and set on top - you can saw forever with that fish line when you run into a bead - You don't need to know how I know that.

Dennis Devault was a huge fan of Loctite. Since he used it to mate barrels to the receivers, it seems possible that he secured the ribs with Loctite also.

I had Dennis change a previous rib on the same gun; Loctite is a brand name , he used a space age Loctite adhesive to join the barrel to a monobloc on his Infinity's & Mach One, also it was used for the anchor points on his adjustable ribs

That is exactly how he explained it to me, except it was the Loctite used on the space shuttle tiles. He used it on his Mach One prototype that at one time had planned to donate to the Trapshooting Hall of Fame.

And , they tried to stop Dennis from shooting his gun @ the Grand, because it was an untested method of barrel attachment

None of his guns have ever failed, in that

The delrin rib Dennis put on one of my barrels is attached with double sided tape. He used 3M tape.
