A shooting bud of mine just got a new Kolar with double release

Well first time our of the box-no patterning ,no practice,--runs 100 straight in singles-without the gun punishing him and 90% of the hits were pure smoke

I think you got a keeper --Wildcat

In typical Trapshooter fashion he should sell it immediately
    Nice shooting !!

Its a 2 year test drive, the Seitz went to the bone yard as a trade for the Kolar--I kinda think, the Krieghoff is next on the chopping block

Better wait and see if you like Kolar's service on their product. Roger C.

How many guys have picked up a new gun....either their's or someone elses......run the targets, think they've found the secret to becoming an All-American, only to find out later that they miss just as many targets as they did with the old gun?

From my experience, it'd be a huge number.

    Is that one a keeper?

longshot sold the gun he smoked Big Don with in the greatest trapshooting spectacle of the century. Why keep it?

Talking about Kolar service, got the triggers changed to double release-the triggers were back in his hands in a week

The gun has a really slim (sporting) forearm--I picked it up-- felt comfortable , despite having a way long LOP for me

Thinking of getting a new o/u --choice is narrowing dow to a Blazer and now a Kolar

Been there. Picked up a beautiful Remington 3200 trap a few years ago. First time out I shot a 99/100 with it and didn't even put it on the patterning board. Another fellow was shooting and asked if he could shoot. Long story short after he shot it I had a feeling it wasn't going home with me. It didn't. Tell him to keep the gun and shoot it well. Bottom line

Sounds great, now all he has to do is adjust the rib and comb for a better POI, add some weight to it, get a custom stock and then it will be perfect!

Bought a used 90T, doesn't even have Kolar's name on it, on a Wednesday -- Called Kohler on a Thursday --got a appointment on Monday, and was out the door my 10:00 --- Next new gun I buy will be a Kohler, nice people to deal with, Plus it helps when they are 45 minutes from my house.

I told him, blue locktite is now you best friend, he shot a 92 from the 27 -the gun has 30" barrels--I see a 34" single barrel for it pretty quickly

    635-G,

I shot with Wildcat a couple of month ago at Eustis. What I can determine, after shooting with him, is he could shoot a heck of a good score, blindfolded and with one arm tied behind his back. Somehow I think he could shoot my new 1938 Iver Johnson single Trap Gun and break 100.

Good shooting Wildcat, looking forward to shooting with you after they get that Black Jack trap field in operation.

The good thing is the guy can shoot, even if it is the "New" gun, golf clubs, etc., theory. The bad thing is, there is only one way to go from there.

Kolar service is second to none. If you you go in person you will treated like Royalty. If you don't want to be given the tour of the plant while your gun is being serviced, usually they will have it done while you go for lunch in the mean time.

I’ve seen that with a lot of Ljutic guns. After a week they want to wrap them around a tree.

A few years back I took a buddy of mine to my trap club to shoot. He wasn't a trap guy so I let him use my gun and a fellow club member let me use his Krieghoff K32 to shoot. I ran 25 and sit his gun back in the rack and he's tells me that the gun is a fixed full choke. Needless to say I did not run out and buy a Krieghoff but it was fun to shoot well with a strange gun.

I'm going out on a limb here and say the gun operator had some game of his own going on before he picked up the magic pixie dust gun.

I have always liked the Kolar and have done a test drive with a few of them, I cannot get past the Kolar guns I have shot all feel heavy in the front to me, like they were not balanced ... They were not modified and didn't have additional weight added to the gun so I felt it must be a common thing with them, so that has kept me from buying one ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

wpt, try one of the newer guns with the lightweight .740 barrels, you may change your mind.

    Michael,
At this stage of the game I will pick something out of the safe that I had to have at some time in my shooting life ... I think ( not positive ), I think the last one I tried was a big bore and I found it to be very front heavy also ... I put barrel weights on the Perazzi's I own and did not notice that it was a problem .... There could of been a lack of desire on my part also, I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained and they just did not feel right to me ... Going back to my Model 12 and go from there ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
