They are shooting singles and doubles too today also.

Very long day! Singles started promptly at 8:30 am. Last shots of doubles were fired at 8:10 pm. I haven’t seen the final entry numbers but I’m guessing the shoot beat their previous best numbers for any year in all three events today. Great to see all the shooters out enjoying the day with friends and family!

Don 1102 in the caps, maybe people do shoot for added money after all. 265 more entrees than last year. 881 in singles, 631 in doubles Up 62 and 84 respectively.

    Brad,
Remember I was told that shooting for money is just an Ohio thing? 1102 beat the old Cardinal Classic record by a bunch! I also noticed that out of 24 yardage punches only 4 - 27 yard shooters earned a yardage punch yesterday and they were all just 1/2 yard punches for 96’s. Maybe the Cardinal has figured out how to equalize the handicap system on certain events? I think they ran over 2600 entries total over all three events. Started at 8:30 am and finished at 8:10 pm. Probably just about at their daily limit which was pretty neat to see. Just started the singles this morning as I’m typing this and they have 211 squads right now. That should increase a bit as some weekend shooters arrive and enter.

Don remind the voters and me who that EC member was that told you that again please.

    Brad,
That’s all just water under the bridge and we’ve all moved on. I will tell you that I can’t recall seeing this many PA and NY shooters at the Cardinal. One of the NY ATA Alt Delegates is camped next to me. He told me this is his first time here and he plans to make it every year from now on. He loves shopping all the vendors and has shot some great scores against the shot curtain. Very sad that our Canadian friends weren’t permitted to cross the border and join us.

Well Don if I'm wrong I'm wrong but I recall Jeff Wagner was the brain that told you that and also the brain that said the ATA needed Jr Gold. The way those Jr's and 23 year old Jr. Golds are kicking the old men's buts they just might be men after all, I wonder if they are playing the money?. The reason the Grand doesn't have more added money is because it comes out of the grand's profits and Gibson's bonus is based on how much the grand makes.

If we don't point out stupid it happens again water under the bridge or not.

Just think how big the Cardinal Center shoots would have been if Martin was throwing his money at Marango instead of trying to save Sparta for all those years.. And don't get me started on the HOF Museum. You need to tell the NY delegate to be sure and stop at the OSTA HOF Museum too because the one in Sparta is as closed at the shooting range.

Lot's of chickens coming home to roost in 2020 and not just for the ATA.

Brad and Dave are both correct on the EC member. I’m just content knowing we were right about the money. The Jr. Gold age young shooters are indeed a force to be reckoned with. I’m pretty sure Chase Horton is still Jr Gold age but he doesn’t declare because he kicks butt in the open men’s division. It’s great to see so many extremely tough young shooters coming up. I wish the game we are passing on to them was in better shape but maybe they can fix what we couldn’t. I know from talking to them that they are not ribbon shooters. Most of the ones I’ve chatted with are just as hard core and determined as Brad was / is. Maybe there is hope!

Based on the paid entries data on RJS website (881 paid singles, 1102 paid caps and 631 dbls) that is 2614 paid entries for the day. WOW, that's 261,400 targets in one day.

Dirk just pointed out that in yesterday’s handicap 1020 played the Lewis out of the 1102 that entered the event. That has to be some kind of record for % playing the Lewis.

I just received word from one of our Canadian Ontario Hall of Fame guys that they have been extended to September 21st for getting out of their country.

He told me he and a friend were planning on some shoots here in the states but they are all on hold again.

There were a lot of Canadians who were planning on this shoot at CC, so you can bet the count would have been several more in each event.

Got a feeling this Corona Virus is going to have a lot of people changing their plans in the future for some time to come, now we are coming into Flu season besides ... Some group of Medical professional are saying the possibility of Easter is not out of the question based on the way things are going in some areas ... The Air Lines being confronted with Federal Regulations are getting hurt and will probably being filing for bankruptcy protection before much longer ... I wear a mask for the sake of others, starting to wonder if the need is greater than many of us think it is ... Time for a serious hard look I am afraid ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Brad something must be wrong I don't see anywhere on this site where your old friend pipelayer has come to the Cardinal Center's rescue and analyzed and explained where they went wrong and how he could have helped to make the shoot successful. Oh maybe next time?

Oh, pipe layer (target caller) says he likes the CC but if anyone brings up the FACT that the Classic is doing so well he calls them a "prick" (that is a quote)

When someone, I deleted the name, posted that the event was WAY up this Ahole tried to suggest that the shoot wasn't as good as posted. The 2 events this target caller was talking about? Event 4, -36 and Event 5, -2

"Where you at today ( name deleted) It’s ok to report the up and I’m glad they are up .
BUT they are down on two events yesterday .
You weren’t going to enlighten everyone on that .
I hope they recover , I have no issues with the Cardinal, my issues are with pricks like you !

    He hopes they "recover"?

Yeah, I would say they "recovered" LOL

This guys gives the graphmaster a run for being the biggest ass to come down the pipe.

I think most of the shells were probably 1-1/8oz. so the number to multiply by would be 1.125 oz.

That makes the number closer to only 9.1 TONS.

Typical Mr. Fishburn. He never thinks ahead. LOL

If this lockdown lasts much longer the dam cure will kill more than the disease. One little club I belong to has lost 3 members (died) in the last couple of weeks. Not to Covid but to the dam lockdown. Yeah they died from other things but we're convinced it was because of the social distancing BS. All 3 were single, divorced, widowed with most of their family living out of town. One guy hadn't left his farm in months, scared of the virus. He was the guy who always went out and ate breakfast with a group of buddies. That ended when the restaurant was forced closed. You just can't lock people up and tell em they can't go out, can't have visitors. One guy 81, another 74 and the last one 65. The strange one was the 65 year old, he just had heart surgery a few months ago, was doing well but something happened - suicide. His son who lived 500 miles away did not visit because he was afraid he might expose his Dad to virus, because several people he worked with had been exposed to the virus. They say his house didn't have any food in it, afraid to go to the store, didn't want to be a bother to others, who knows - he didn't have Covid but it killed him just the same (my opinion).

Yeah these guys were old but they were all healthy before this effing virus showed up. They went down hill super fast after being social distance.

Thanks for the add. The strange part about the Cardinal Center’s success is the whiners complaining about it. You want to play a game of what if’s? What if the CC just rolled over for the summer? What if the OSTA didn’t buck the Covid trend. What if they just rolled over? Where would the ATA be?

The trapshooters owe a big thanks to the OSTA for having their shoot when others were following various governor’s stop orders. You can see where the leadership is and where it isn’t.
