What did Gravestock shoot single/handicap with? I saw him shoot in the 70s.

From old photos that i have seen, I believe he shot a Remington 31 Trap for singles and handicap...

He later shot a Perazzi TM1. Don't know how long he shot it.

In 1970 Larry G. was gifted a 32" Fabbri O/U choked F&F by a shooting friend/admirer from Kansas City. Larry had it restocked (very High) by former Purdey stocker David Trevallion. He used it for ATA doubles and flyers until retiring from the game.

Larry was the most gifted shooter I have ever had the pleasure of watching. He had lightning fast reflexes and smooth as silk.He shot a Remington 31 F grade with a bent up barrel.Trigger pull of 16 ounces. I believe the Fabbri o/u was a 34",almost unheard of at the time. He was a money shooter and was the best in my opinion.Haven't seen anyone like him since.I believe he retired from shooting in the late seventies.Around 1980 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.He showed up with a MX3 combo, shot the clay target championship running 200.That is about last I remember him shooting. The Fabbri is a 32" barreled gun...... I have shot it several times in the past. It was still here in Texas a few years ago.

When I shot my first Grand American in 1974 I watched Britt, Dan, and Larry shoot several events and I said then that's who I want to shoot like. You posted a picture of my past and my idols.

Why do they all have handguns sticking out of their shooting vests?

Trap shooters were hard on bad pullers back then. Truefully I think the handguns were a team trophy from a north south shootout shoot that used to be held. They were the team from the south, looks like black powder handguns to me. All those shooters are in the HOF also.
