I am giving even odds the grand will be at the Cardinal Center. For you newbies that is 50%. But the chances there is a grand at all are the same. If it happens it will not be in Sparta.

The facility is a disaster in Sparta. The CC could prepare in a few weeks.

Even with short notice the grand would be bigger at the CC.

But, I hear Gipson makes more money if there is no grand.

Two to one odds say once the grand goes back to OH it will never go back.

CC could do it but their entry area could never handle the crowd. Maybe a large circus tent is the answer.

The State of Illinois is locked down until further Notice according to the Mayor of the City of Chicago and the Governor JB Pritzger , was broadcast on the early news this morning (5-8-2020) ... ( Don't know why they put it on our news , but they did ) ... I would assume that is all of the State ... Time will tell ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Oleo, A pre-squad pre-pay plan would take a lot of pressure off of the entry building. Assign squads and shooting positions as they come in would also help. Of course the Ohio and Pa. hatters are not going to attend so that will also take a small amount of pressure off also.
The sad thing is we will most likely loose the 15 Ill. shooters, but maybe we can pick up all 12 of the Miss. shooters.

I would love for the Grand to be at the CC. I don't think that will happen because the powers that be at the ATA would be afraid that there would be more shooters at the Grand in Ohio, than Illinois. I am still hoping and wishing though.

If not in Sparta, I would assume it would be multiple sites. CC, PSSA and Linn Creek come to mind, as you'd only be able to shoot 100 a day if it were only held at any of these, based on current traps available.

Just a WAG but I think it was probably removed due to the fact that someone could post a link that wasn’t legit, you wouldn’t know until you clicked on it, and download some type of malware or dare I say, virus.
Not good PR for the site that let someone post a bogus link.

I saw the link and then that it was removed so,

Links will get you banned... yikes. It is in the rules.

There are some creepy stooges that only shoot in Sparta. They might not be happy about the shoot being in OH. And there are some Ohioans that might be happy about the 2012Pull gang being in OH.

The ATA will likely make their decision based on the number of campsites available. They've already decided their followers would much rather live in a trailer than rent a motel room with unlimited access to endless amenities. Personally, if I want to camp I'll pitch a tent in my backyard and pretend I'm in Sparta.

Just (05-14-2020 @ 11 AM our time ) got off the phone with a Buddy of mine who is a shooter from Illinois, said there are lots of rumors floating around but nothing you can hang your hat on ... They are still restricted, a few of them drove up to Wisc and shot some practice at a club that was open but had very few customers ... (didn't mention the name ,nor did I ask ) ... WPT ... If the ATA moves the Grand this year it will be to Missouri. They can't take a chance on moving it to Ohio because numbers might go up, and that would prove their move to Sparta was a mistake. The numbers will probably go up if they go to Missouri. I will try to attend no matter where they have it. I sure do like to shoot at the CC, but I also enjoy shooting at Linn Creek. I am looking forward now to the Ohio State Shoot. They sure treat non residents good.

I can tell you one thing that is not happening. The Cardinal Center is not offering to bail the ATA out for a year. My friends are sure it would be a multi year deal if at all. They have been talking.

Thanks to you guys that are staying close to this.

    I report. You decide.

Do any of you guys know how many more traps Linn Creek has than CC? That may be the only thing it may have on the CC. I know that the Cardinal has better vendor buildings, bathrooms, camping, more room for tent vendors, best background, and better roads from motels to the shoot. To me it is not a hard decision to make based on what I know about both venues. That being said the shoot management, targets, and consideration for shooters are great at both places. As far as the one year bailout, if either venue shows the ATA what could be, maybe their eyes would be opened. MAYBE !!!!!!!!

The Honorable Guvnah Pritzger closed down the State of Illinois for 150 days from May 16, 2020 ( 5 months), all violations will be subject to fines and up to a year in jail ... This means the State of Illinois is off limits until at least the end of October or November depending on what day he says it starts ... I am not sure he legally has the power to do this unless he declares a National Emergency which would not include only the State of Illinois so it would have to be declared on a Federal Level ... Based on that Pritzger may of made up their mind for them ... This could get interesting ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The ATA no doubt has the State of Illinois backed into a corner legally if they fail to up hold their end of the agreement and allow the ATA to host a shoot at the facility even if the rest of the State is under an Emergency declared by the Guvnah (Pritzger) being as all the Genius's on the EC, ED ,and Bod are right no top of things ... This is what happens when you are a renter when compared to being an owner ...

    CBaker,
I quit trying to follow current events in the State of Illinois, I get them sent to me daily and post the high lights just for people (who give two shits) to have a general knowledge of what the Hell is going on ... ... Now it appears the Guvnah has been told he does not and cannot do what he declared as a done deal ( in his mind any way ) ... They retracted the initial closure for now on the Guvnahs part but there are updates coming in the very near future, for now the restrictions go until 06-15-2020 and are dependent on if the Corona Virus cases increase and where ... The Mayor of Chgo on the other hand feels she (?) can do whatever, when ever she (?) wants (that is a She isn't it ) ..? So now its back to time will tell ... As usual "expect the unexpected" in the Land of Lincoln at least for now any way ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    05/20/2020 Up date ...

Members of a key legislative committee are scheduled to meet May 20 to discuss a newly filed emergency rule that criminalizes businesses who defy Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay at home order.

Pritzker amended Illinois Department of Public Health rules so business owners can be charged with a Class A misdemeanor for violating his closure order. The rule immediately took effect Friday, and now business owners can face a maximum penalty fine of $2,500 and one year in prison. Since this new rule was filed as an emergency rule, it would be effective for 150 days.

The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, or JCAR, is facing pressure to strike down Pritzker’s new rule at its Wednesday meeting, scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Update: Illinois State Police Defy Tyrannical Governor — WILL NOT Arrest, Jail Business Owners for Breaking Lockdown

Pritzker the tyrant wants to jail business owners who don’t want to lose their businesses and life savings.

But the state police announced they will not honor Pritzker’s requests.

The Illinois State Police announced on Tuesday they will not arrest or jail any individual in violation of Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker’s lockdown or emergency orders.

Things change faster in Illinois than one can even imagine ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Pritzker pulled his proposal off the table. He didn't have the votes to pass it. Even his own dems opposed such a thing.
He has now decided to loosen up a bit. Making changes to his 5 phazes crap. I think he was pushing his luck too far. Have to wait and see what Jabba does next.

There are a lot of things that can happen between now and then, especially if they get a Major spike in Corona Virus cases ... The Governor is not happy that he was over ruled and the Mayor of the City of Chicago is another whack job calling for excessive fines and jail time, not being enforced obviously ... Time to sit back, wait and watch until it happens ... I can't help but wonder what this Corona Virus will or can do to attendance which has been Pathetic since the on set ... This is Illinois we are talking about and anything can and usually does happen in the blink of an eye there ( Remember Meigs Field , here one day gone the next ) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Not that it matters but Arizona is in Phase III out of 5 of re opening ...

I think a lot of states are messed up I see where Ohio is going to have agents go out in plain clothes to enforce the rules of reopening. IMO let the people make up there own minds I have seen everything from Mayors to Governors try and act like they are the only ones that can save us.

This would be a good time for Pipelier or Gibson to offer the unwashed ATA masses a grain or two of wisdom about the fantastic direction Sparta and the grand is headed for in 2020.

2020 is a vision thing isn't it, who could have seen this train wreck coming way back in 2005?. Not Merlo, not Stat Man Stan, no someone else on here of vision and fore thought, who could that have been?
