Here are the next three communications concerning the 2009 OSTA, Fishburn offer to the HOF. Be sure to read the RESPONSE that Bradford sent Lynn Parsons, real classy guy Bradford.

I can see why you thought you might have been a little premature in saying N1H1 was the biggest asshole.

"Do you want to open this up to the new Las Vegas Shooting Park, Pennsylvania Home Grounds, and other sites?"

Yeah you arrogant elitist. Those two would be one thousand percent better than where they put it.

By Bradford's tone, it is obvious that it was a "done deal" before Kenny Ray wrote his first letter.

What seems funny about it to me is that as early as 2009, Mr. Fishburn must have known that the trustees smelled like a pickle barrel full of skunk shit but kept his heart open to the ATA even through the current proposal negotiations. Gosh...just gosh. Brad, does he know everything? He does, doesn't he.

I love the part about LEASED land in Sparta. I'm willing to venture a strong guess Bradford already knew this would be an ILLINOIS OWNED building, and IF he kept quiet about it in his search for donations, he would be more successful. All these years later, the Shooters still have to pony up more funds for the STATE OWNED building.

And I'll go so far as to say this Kenny Ray gentleman is not only a historian, but also has a crystal ball. He was seeing what was going to happen long before the rest who were believing in Branford's raising all those millions.

5 Acres of DEEDED over land, and an offer of at least $100,000.00, along with the aid of a construction company, and Bradford turned this down ?

He and N1H1 must have really had some large charts to go over.

In attempting to find the ORIGINAL concept pic, I came across this:

In the above article (LINK) I really enjoyed these statements:

"The last hurdle is formalizing the lease with the IDNR. Bradford shied away from using the word formality.

“I don’t like to use that term, but we have a good rapport with them. I look for that to be acted on shortly. The IDNR wants us here, and we want to be here.”

“The lease is the least of our worries,” said Art Ashbrook, the WSRC’s executive director. “It’s all but done.”

Why wouldn't Art Ashbrook and the IDNR want this, FREE building to the state.

Burns my butt every time I see this.

History Seeker, Just about anything ever said about, Sparta, the Museum, the Grand, by way of the ATA, Gibson, or the EC has been proven to have been wrong or a lie, false hope at the minimum. I remember Mike Seitz telling me that Bradford was always bragging that he could raise a million dollars before lunch.

While we are on the subject of the HOF Museum Two things I am mad at the History Buff about that I'll get off my chest.

Number 1 I asked him to give me my picture from the HOF when he put Punkin and the other HOF stuff in storage and I'd put it up in my Thorn Bottom club house (more people would see it here in a year than in Sparta) and he wouldn't

Number two (and this is the biggy) Bradford offered to quit if Kenny thought he should and Kenny being the nice guy dropped the ball and said NO.

    Bad Dog Kenny.bad Dog.

If Bradford could raise millions, why is there still money owed on the GIFT building he gave to the state of Ill.? He does not appear to be the brightest bulb in the string. Why does the ATA always seem to get the inept in charge? Is it by chance or is it planed? Roger C.

Way back when I had made a couple of suggestions to Terry Dean (not that I was, or am an ANYBODY) and I received this response:

    Subject: Grand Numbers??
    From: Pipe Layer
    Email:
    Date: Mon, Aug 19, 2013 - 11:35 AM ET
    Website Address:

We classified a little over 3400 shooters and the Illinois shooter base is getting larger every year.
We also had 19 shooters from Brazil. The target count was down I assume because people were not shooting all events due to the economy.

The longer the Grand stays in Ill. the larger the local shooter base will grow from IL and Missouri . Yes, we left the shooter base in Ohio but in time the base will grow in Sparta.

Naysayers keep smearing and we keep going and enjoying a great shoot with out you. The past is just that. The past. Move on.

Well I wonder what old TD would have to say about his wonderful Crystal Ball now ?

These guys are all so full of themselves, and full of BS to boot !

All they need is one more year. And another, and another, and another...…….

News flash target claimer, it will never happen. Fourteen years and it still sucks!

"but in time the base will grow in Sparta."

Right, he should have said ONCE UPON A TIME. That's how all fairy tales start.

He should have changed his handle to PIPE DREAM!

That would be an appropriate engraving on that nice FREE gun he is going to be shooting.

A picture of the WSRC on one side and the words
    PIPE DREAM on the other.

I would like to have the money they paid HRDA inc to draw up the design that was never built. Then again, maybe it wasn't that much.

Maybe LG knew somebody and they got a "good" deal.

That's the Jetson's house I as referring to HB, THANKS for finding that.

I don't know about the others, but I do know for a fact of one of the BOT who had NO KNOWLEDGE of that thing, and that was Lynn Parsons.

Hah. The joke is on the fools that agreed to pay an extra fee to shoot in Sparta. To bail out the HOF. For making that decision they put Bradford in the HOF.

The HOF is separate from the ATA except by association, yet the ATA is adding an extra fee to pay for a building that is not owned by the ATA or HOF for that matter ... If something does not smell right here its because it isn't, plain and simple ... The HOF and the ATA have always been separated at least on paper .... WPT ... (YAC) ...

These Qualifications told to anyone who submits someone for consideration into the THOF keep saying on an "ATA wide Basis".

I know that this doesn't mean much to many readers, BUT when I submitted a very deserving individual several years ago, I was challenged by some ( folks NOT involved with the THOF) that I should not submit anything about the individual's other accomplishments in Bunker, Olympic shooting, or anything NOT pertaining to ATA shooting.

I know of some who were not even presented to the Biographical committee who are members of the Hall of Fame today. Now that should never have happened as the procedure is clearly in place for inductees.

I checked with ATA / HOF officials about this ATA wide basis, and they all told me to go ahead and submit anything about the shooter.

I then sent a letter to the BOT and Bradford asking that that wording of ATA wide basis be changed as it only confused people who feel they want to submit someone who had an impressive record before 1023.

My suggestion mentioned that how can anyone be inducted that shot before 1923 ? The year the ATA as we know it was born.

Nitpicky perhaps, but in my opinion this was a very valid question and suggestion because this had happened to my proposed inductee submission..

From the THOF web site follows:

    Qualifications
Hall of Fame nominees are selected from two groups: competitors—shooters who have made impressive records in shooting on an ATA-wide basis, and contributors—those who have contributed to the growth of trapshooting or to the betterment of the sport, also on an ATA-wide basis. Obviously, a shooter might have accomplishments in both of these areas.

    Specific requirements for competitors are:
Shooters with impressive records on an ATA-wide basis who are still living and have been in active competition for a period of 20 years or more..
Shooters who are deceased and have honored themselves in trapshooting on an ATA-wide basis for a significant number of years.
    Specific requirements for contributors are:
Living or deceased individuals who distinguished themselves on an ATA-wide basis by their contributions to the sport of trapshooting. This category can take on and is intended to have a broad meaning. Contributors are recognized for doing great service to our sport—such as inventions to aid our sport, promoting and publicizing our sport, and/or serving trapshooters on state, zone and ATA-wide bases.
All living currently-selected inductees must appear personally at the Trapshooting Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony during the Grand American unless physically incapable at the time of induction.
Submissions for the current year must be received at the Hall of Fame office before June 15 to be considered by the committee at the Grand American in August. Selections for the next year's induction are announced in the issue of TRAP & FIELD following the Grand American.

For those unfamiliar with the trapshooting time line, this is when the ATA of today was born:

1923 - American Trapshooting Association later became Amateur Trapshooting Association.

    1023 should have been 1923.

    FAT fingers, sorry

AND, by the way, the wording "on an ATA wide basis" has never been changed.
