It seems the Governor has budgeted one employee to work the WSRC. Not sure where they came up with the money for an employee but certainly we should get a say in the matter.

I just went to the ATA web site and watched the video from start to finish all over again to see if there was anything I missed when I previously watched it ... The Representative from IDNR said absolutely nothing other than reference the MOU that he pointed out had no agreements attached to it other than to negotiate in good faith with the ATA if the IDNR did not open the facility before 04-15-16 ... It was obvious they did not want to address any of the issues about the SCPT, AIM or even the grand other than skim over the possibility of it being at the facility ... They did state several times that they were unable to negotiate until after April for legal reasons and would not commit to the State having State workers on site and not being able to open the facility to the public for shooting before the negotiations for legal reasons ... There was no real push for any answers in the video even to valid questions that should of been answered by someone on that panel ... That is another 24 minutes of my life wasted, I would say at this point in time the ATA is in trouble if they do not have a back up plan otherwise known as "PLAN B ", when all else fails ...
I was kind of wondering why the ATA would even need a ED being as there is really nothing going on or happening at over $136,000 + per year (think: Lay off until further notice ) ... I have a feeling trapwife would probably not be a good candidate being as she is selectively on the side of the ATA, Ec, ED, and some of the board of directors and would not be of any value to the general membership ... WPT .... (YAC) ...

Don't waste your time watching that video again, not I have a head ache and my butt hurts ...

Don, I'm waiting for the dead shooters from Chi Town to record their votes for the hometown boys, Greentitian, Gibson, Barry Roach. The answer to your question is no, my polaris goes with me, remember I'll over 100 empty trap fields to watch over, three miles long. I'll need the ranger. It has heat but I'll have to add air conditioning for those lovely Sparta summer days. Brad

I'm formally asking Gibson and the Pipe Layer to drop out of the race. I'm not asking for either endorsements although if they want to leave the country if I'm elected I'll be sure to help raise funds for their departure tickets. I've heard the EC is looking into having a satellite grand at Guantanamo Bay and so they might choose to go to Cuba. This would be a fantastic location for the new WSRC grand american complex. The numbers of registered shooters in both sites are somewhat similar. I await a news conference announcing an MOU, common sense says probably sometime around 1 April 2016. Brad Out.

    Associated Press
CHAMPAIGN — The Department of Employment Security says Illinois’ unemployment rate rose again in January, reaching 6.3 percent.

The department’s monthly report on Thursday also noted that U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics revised December’s figure upward to 6.1 percent rather than the originally reported 5.9 percent.

The department said January unemployment was up .2 percent. The report noted that government employers lost a net 2,600 jobs and companies in the other services category lost 2,100 jobs.

Still, the state had 57,600 more jobs in January than it had a year earlier.

Department director Jeff Mays complained the state lags the nation in job growth and has throughout the recovery from the last recession.

The national unemployment rate for January was 4.9 percent.

Budget crisis sharply cuts bond sales for State of Illinois
POSTED 9:09 AM, JANUARY 20, 2016, BY SHELLIE NELSON
    [IMG]
CHICAGO (AP) — A University of Illinois analysis says the state received about $53 million less in a recent bond sale than it could have because of Illinois’ poor financial shape.

The university’s Institute of Government and Public Affairs released the analysis Tuesday of Illinois’ $480 million general obligation bond sale. It found Illinois received $53 million less in Jan. 14’s sale compared with bonds issued in 2006, when Illinois’ credit rating was better.

The study found estimated losses could grow to over $400 million annually if fiscal troubles continue.

Illinois has massive pension debt and lawmakers are deadlocked over a budget.

Gov. Bruce Rauner defended the sale, touting a lower interest rate than previously. He says the bond sale was appropriate because money will be used for capital improvements, not daily operations.

Lack of Illinois budget means furloughs, lay offs for Illinois universities

SIU President to talk layoffs with IL lawmakers

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — University officials are urging Illinois lawmakers to pass a state budget, saying nearly a year without state support has led to layoffs, students struggling to pay tuition without grants and high schoolers considering going elsewhere for a degree.

Southern Illinois University expects to lay off several hundred employees if it loses over $45 million in state funding in the budget for fiscal year 2017.

President Randy Dunn issued a report Wednesday that detailed how the university’s three campuses would be affected if Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed 20 percent reduction in state university funding is enacted as part of the budget.

Dunn said more than 180 faculty and staff positions could be cut in Carbondale, about 100 jobs at the School of Medicine in Springfield, and nearly 140 positions in Edwardsville.

Click here to read more about the Illinois budget crisis

Illinois’ Board of Higher Education Director James Applegate told a Senate committee Thursday that the state is “on the verge of dismantling the higher education system.”

Colleges have not received funding since July 1 when the current fiscal year budget should’ve taken effect. Higher education is facing future cuts as the state deals with a multi-billion-dollar deficit.

Northeastern Illinois University says about 1,000 employees will be required to take one day off without pay per week because of the ongoing state budget impasse.

Northeastern President Sharon Hahs announced Thursday that furloughs will begin next week and will save $225,000 to $250,000 per week.

Hahs says the move is “incredibly difficult.” But she says it’s necessary to ensure the Chicago university can operate into fall semester.

Last summer Northeastern eliminated 65 non-teaching positions. The university also has imposed a hiring and travel freeze and delayed maintenance projects.

The Mold issues will not be addressed in Gov.Rauners, WSRC/IDNR budget because he does not and has not had a budget or even a compromised budget agreement since 2015 ... There is speculation that there will be a BUDGET or a compromised budget for 2017, as of now this is "Tentative, Possible, probable, maybe, and or there may be an MOU issued at a later date if there is no progress in the talks that have been scheduled but no date has been set or agreed upon as of yet, so it will be put on the "tentative, possible, probable, maybe, MOU schedule that will be issued if all else fails and they can agree on a date at a later date tentatively any way ... The State of Illinois is losing residents faster than the remaining residents can make Babies to balance the off set and stabilize the population and to keep from losing tax payers, so they can agree on or compromise a budget sometime/anytime in the future ... If you think about it and the "stones" it would take to suggest escorting a representative off of the grounds of a shooting /recreational facility that is there to represent a company that could buy and sell the organization of the person who made the request its even more ridiculous ... I cannot help but think Gipson is the "Fall Guy" for the ATA's EC or he is brain dead , one or the other ... To even suggest such a thing it total and utter stupidity personified and shows what we , the members are dealing with ... If there was to be really only one employee to run the HOF, and it was legitimate, my vote would go to Kenny Ray.... Give him a substantial compensation package with a non-negotiable 10 year contract, and give him free reign over the HOF with no outside interference, and you have the man that would be able to handle what is necessary to make the HOF a great place to visit. That being said, the foot traffic to the HOF would hardly make it justifiable... The THOF museum is, more likely than not, going to be end up a distant, faded memory, with all the artifacts gathering dust over the years for lack of attendance and neglect due solely to its location. But, hey... Maybe not. Stranger things have happened... (Think area 51)...

The only problem with the HOF is Location, as in Location , Location being rule Number one if you truly want to be able to entertain a crowd or even just a few people at a time ... The artifacts are basically in storage but on display for the most part based on the location and the distance to civilization and people knowing its location ... The location dictates there should be a up graded security system so the place does not get scattered all over the place at any time in the future ... The future of the WSRC does not look very secure, that being a lingering problem might make the setting up the HOF look like more of a mistake in the coming years ... To be able to fix a problem you have to admit there is a problem , then figure out a way to fix the problem, location would be the first problem that should be attended to ... The advantage (good thing) to having the HOF in Sparta is some of the resident shooters will at least be able to walk through it even though they will never be enshrined in it ... I can see it now, I am in the HOF as he takes a selfie .... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I know we have beat the horse dead on Location.

BUT I still think it would have been wonderful for campers entering the Cardinal Center ANYTIME of the year, to see the impressive building that would have been there with Trapshooting Hall of Fame Museum on the front.

    Scenario:

Rainy day, and Dad says to the wife and kids:

"Lets ride out to the entrance, and while the laundry is being done, we can go and see what that museum is all about."

The kids see Anney Oakley who they can immediatley associate with, and Mom looking at the lovely Punkin flock and her gold Punkin.

All leave with a new found knowledge of the sport, and it's history. Laundry gathered up, and time for a lunch at the Farmstead Restarant where they see the owner of Cardinal Center Mr. Fishburn. They walk up and thank him for such a nice place to camp, and the history lesson on Trap Shooting.

Oh wait, that was only a dream someone had.

The ATA has created its own demons by not being truthful and straight forward with the State of Illinois in the first place, thus what goes around, comes around ... The HOF building and any money invested in same will be gone once the WSRC is no longer operational, be if this year, next year, or any year after that ... The inevitability of the place becoming nothing more than a dream that was, that never had a chance ... The ATA created the situation that exists and no one else is to blame if all things are considered ... The ATA had their chance, the HOF had theirs also, so now they get what they paid for and suffer the recourse /consequence of same ... The HOF in Ohio will be another shining star for Mr Fishburn and the State of Ohio as well as trapshooting when all is said and done .... WPT ... (YAC) ...
