My pals in the trenches say Gipson asked for $250,000 from the Cardinal Center up front. That was to be given at the point a contract was signed.

    Strange?

    I don’t know.

    I report. You decide.

As far as Ohio bribes go currently, thats pretty cheap.

I did not say that was a bribe. He was representing the ATA.

The ATA is it's own worse enemy ... Glad the folks at Cardinal Center told them to go to Hell and didn't get involved with the association any more than they have to be ... The Cardinal Center does not need the ATA, sooner or later the ATA will need the Cardinal Center ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Actually the Cardinal Center does, their Cardinal Classic is big because it is a registered shoot.

The ATA can thank God there are clubs all over the country collecting daily fees on behalf of the ATA ... There would be RIOTS if the ATA ever denied the folks at Cardinal Center a shoot, that is a fact ... The ATA needs the Cardinal Center much more than the Cardinal Center needs the ATA ... If the Cardinal Center hosted a shoot against the ATA's hosted shoots, I would bet the Cardinal Center would have a better turn out ... It almost happened one time when the Old Phoenix Club was still operational because the Big Mouth President gave me some shit and a list of demands ... We would of used the $17,000 we paid the ATA for the Spring Grand as added money and made them look likes the fools they were and still are today ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

"Registered" shoots are the reason for big turnouts

OK, someone better tell people that the GAH, event #24, at the 'grand' is a registered shoot because the turnout there for the last 14 YEARS has been pathetic.

The grand GAH in Sparta had the biggest draw of 2004 entry's once in 14 years of the annual event .. I was told ( not confirmed) that of the 2004 entered less than 2000 actually shot the event (not that it really matters ) ... I would almost be willing to bet the farm the GAH in Linn Creek will have a better turn out (exceed 2004) even with the Corona Virus, face masks, and any and all other hurdles (looming ) they can dream up between now and then ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

A couple of bucks maybe, but the farm? You wouldn't want to do that.

Too many things changing every day.

I want to know did the ATA get 250,000 bucks from the MTA? It would be a nice question for my Ohio ATA delegate to ask Gibson about, don't you think?

The $250,000 was probably Lynn ( the Talking Head ) Gipsons Bonus bucks for the calendar year (6 months) of 2020 ... If it was me I am not sure I would of taken that chance with everything that has been happening and not happening this year due to the Corona Virus, Riots, Protests, etc ... Hope it works out well for the MTA when it is all said and done ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    Brad,
One of the items the ATA was insisting on from the Cardinal Center was the OSTA waiving the $1.50 per entry fee (trap maintenance/replacement fee). I received my Grand program in the mail yesterday and noticed the MTA will get a $3.00 per entry fee. I don’t begrudge the MTA for getting $3.00 per entry because I think it’s fair, I just found it odd that the ATA insisted the OSTA waive their $1.50 fee.

The State of Illinois (IDNR) got $3.00 per entry at the WSRC so it is probably just being carried over to the new location ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I don't see where the ATA had any right to ask for anything, being they had nowhere to hold there signature event. They should have been the one to offer money.

I think you meant "OSTA". The OSTA was not involved in that part of the talks with the ATA/Gipson, although the OSTA would get revenue from a deal.

    I report. You decide.

I do not know if the Club in Linn Creek is a member owned club, if it is before they could agree to any offer to host the shoot it should or would have to go before the Clubs Board of Directors and a Majority Vote would be needed before the agreement can be accepted on the Clubs or the ATA's behalf (ATA's BOD) also for that matter ... The By Laws would be specific about any such agreements and to circumvent same would nullify any and all agreements ... Very Interesting, being as nothing was ever published prior to the announcement of the change of venue ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
