Made in the fifties. Model 12s can shoot a 98? This one at Pennsylvania State Shoot.

Nice. I think the 98 might have been lower, if not for the added higher rib and judging from the angle of the rib, higher POI.
Higher POI came from analyzing the shadow cast of the rib/barrel angularity on the ground. The most difficult part was factoring in the angle of the Sun and the curvature of the Earth. A graph, maybe?

But you did forget to calculate the wind factor -- Check out the flag -- great job -- Like my grand dad said "its the Indian not the arrow"

You know Family Guy for being the most "Prolific" reporter in trap shooting today I'd think you'd report ALL the facts. I think you realize there are 3 events in trap shooting so what was the 98 in? Try and be a truthful reporter not just a volume reporter too.

On the model 12 they don't make them like that anymore. I have over 30 of them. My all time favorite shotgun, my oldest one is from 1913.

I shot my 1963 Model 12 yesterday. Mine came from some dude named Brad. That guy had over 30 M12’s, one of them was made in 1913! Can’t remember Brad’s last name but he told me he used to shoot a lot of trap.

I have owned and operated 38 Model 12's in my life time (so far) and counting ... I have 2 gun safes one is for Model 12's and it is full (only two empty slots) ... I have probably made more money with a Model 12 than any other gun I have shot or owned ... I had Philip from P&P (when it was P&P) fix and adjust the POI on several of mine by shimming the stock, I have a few that shoot 70/30, one that shoots 80/20, the others have not been altered or checked for POI ... I have one I bought from a guy as a parts gun and have never had to take any part off of it so it is a shooter also ... I shot a Model 12 Pigeon to the 27 yard line the guns just feel so right , I have often wondered why I ever starting shooting other guns (Trapgunitis) but will go back to shooting a Model 12 when I start shooting again, probably just games or for yucks ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I have one very similar with high rib and extended forearm. I
have also won more $$ with that gun than any other. Undoubtedly
the finest shotgun ever made. We all got away from them when
the single barrels came out. Good luck to all.

  10. Mr. Cogan, I may bet all of your previous post may not have been perfectly correct? Referring to post # 7, I may guess you know much more than you have delivered! HHHMMMMM!

    DaveB,
A fella has gotta be careful admitting that not only does he know Brad, but darned if we ain’t good friends too! A few years back Brad was having some strange happenings around his place. Things falling out of the sky, truck catching fire etc. We think it was either the US Government or the ATA EC that was after him. Either way when I hunt out there I try to stay a couple feet away from him at all times just in case a stray lightning bolt were to strike him!

Nice gun Family Guy. I started trap shooting with a M 12 that I bought in a pawn shop in Lawton OK in 1970. That gun had the best patterns I ever shot. Must have had 5 or 6 trap & at least a dozen field guns over the years. Sadly I only have four now, three 16's & one 12.

    Hey Brad....
It was in handicap. But I got the feeling this fellow would have been happy with a 98 in singles.

And thanks for the “Most Prolific Trapshooting Reporter Title”. Ah shucks.

Family Guy first thanks for the update, though Correct me if I'm wrong but I would think the most Prolific Trap Shooting Reporter would be amiss if he didn't try and interview the most controversial person in trap shooting. If your reporter curiosity is real I'll be at the State shoot on Thursday for the HOF and Museum activities. I could fit you into my schedule if you would like to know what I really think. I'd through some trap history in for you too..

    Brad...,
We will have to do a video interview and post it here. One of the best parts of the week will be the HOF activities/party. Looking forward to those refreshments. Like the Big Bud Tent days.

Hmmm, talking wire say brave Thorn in Bottom would welcome pow-wow with me, Passer of Pipe.

Me thinks if I show face anywhere near Thorn in Bottom I get scalped. Me not very bright but not stupid.

I not get to be Big Chief and receive BIG GIFT by being stupid.

If I see Thorn in Bottom coming I go other way. Not to worry too much. I not go Ohio in long long time. Too many braves know me and they speak truth not speak with fork tongue.

Maybe I send braves MoeSkeeto, Larryot, and Curly tail on horses ass. They stupid. Curly Tail on Horses Ass take white mans test. He score 44. That real stupid. That like getting run over by a Stupid stampede.

Thorn in Bottom scalp them plenty easy. Maybe leave me alone.

See deer on horse? MoeSkeeto shoot but I claim I shot and take deer for my own tee-pee. Like I said, me not stupid.

    Go figure

A young guy shooting a 65 year old gun made in the 50's.

Then there is most of us, made in the 50's, and we are shooting a gun younger than this kid.

Well done young man, Congrats. Indian and the arrow!
