My IM chokes smokes targets. Xfull on chips them.

Your IM is putting more pellets on the target, if your extra full is chipping , try lowering your comb or raising your rib the extra full is on top of the target your IM is more centered

 

Go to the patterning board. See what they are doing

 

An extra full choke raises your POI, also a patterning board gives you a 2 dimensional view it doesn't show your shot string

 

And how does an extra full raise your POI?

 

If your pattern shrinks your POI rises that is what I got from looking @ Go Shooting.com --

 

POI is based on the center of the pattern, though- isn’t it?

 

Yes it is the center of the pattern but when you shrink the pattern your pattern raises in relationship to the moving target not a station point on a piece of paper

 

Wow I've been wrong the POI doesn't change, the POA changes- the smaller pattern is why the gun is getting chips the IM choke is more centered on the target than the extra full
