I shoot @ Robinson Ranch ,On field #4 there are two memorial stones One for Gerald Burkhart and the other for Ashley Jones their target totals are listed.

But here is the break down of their records:

    Ashley Jones
    719400 singles
    83400 caps
    141500 doubles

    Gerald Burkhart
    1629600 singles
    67500 caps
    3850 caps

They shot together @ Robinson Ranch and they died within a week of each other

If my memory serves me well I believe that Tony Olivito was the first shooter to shoot one million 16yd targets. I see in the average book that he ended up with1,374,600 16yd targets.

These are truly great achievements for these individuals. Someone else who I believe had an amazing number of 16yd targets was Adolph Nelson. For many years Adolph had the record for 16yd targets registered with a total of 411,500 according to the average book. All of these targets were shot at regularly scheduled shoots. For example if there was a 1000 bird marathon today at Vincennes's Indiana Adolph would be there and tomorrow he would possibly be shooting a 500 marathon at Camp Troy, Ohio and the next day he could possibly be doing another 500 birder at the Detroit Gun Club in Michigan and then maybe down to Fisher Brothers Shooting Park at Findlay, Ohio for another marathon. He shot all but about 50,000 of these targets after he retired. In a conversation with Adolph at the Grand he told me that in the previous target year he had registered over 50,000 16yd targets and he and his wife had put on over 50,000 miles on their car going from shoot to shoot. As I understand it Tony, Gerald, and Ashley shot the vast majority of their targets at one gun club on one trap and they could register targets all day long. I'm not saying that this was wrong it was just a whole different type of ball game. Much like breaking 100 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday in the NRA Singles at the Grand and it being considered the same as breaking a normal 200 straight in a one day program. What I am trying to say is that these should be listed as different events.

Is there a typo? Listed as both 67500 caps and 3850 caps. Could the last figure (3850) be for doubles? Take care.
