Its no rumor. Dad did pass yesterday morning. He always loved and lived for trapshooting. Most dont know but he started in 1969 and shot all the way till 2022 when he just couldnt handle the weight of gun any longer. Known for his nick name Dr Longshot. I would like to let the Trapshooting community he meant the best for the sport and the average shooter so they could compete and get some $$ back to offset shooting expenses. So my family and myself would like to see how we could try to help offset shooting expenses for the in ohio state residents at this years ohio state shoot. Maybe by adding a second lewis class in his name.50/30/20 3 places free of charge. Currently im personally giving $2000 to that lewis class. Im also willing to add an additional $1000 to the long bird shoot if they still hold it. If any of you have any suggestions we are always open. I can be reached at BHC160@yahoo.com. Thanks to all of you. Ron.

So sorry for your loss. While we didn't see eye to eye, I respected him for his strong convictions. He will be remembered as a great shooter and friend to many.

So nice of you to help others. I knew your dad and talked often. He made some reloads for me. Longshot powder. You shoot them from long range and the obliterated the target. You also knew you shoot them because of the recoil. Enjoyed taking to him at the Cardinal center. Rest in peace

I feared this day would come soon. Doc's posts and threads are iconic. They are the most read threads on the forum.

He was part of the greatest trapshooting spectacle in this century. The Great Grudge Match kicked off this forum. When I reported on the spectacle live on a worn out venue I was kicked off.

Doc, Neil Winston, and BIG DON continued their heated discussions here. The subject was usually the ATA's easy targets, the move to Illinois, the broken handicap system, and faster shells.

Thru this forum Doc became the most read person in trapshooting.

I will talk more about him later. He is a legend.

I offer my sincere condolences to you and your family.

It is very generous of you to support the game with your funding.

RIP Dr. Longshot. You always wanted the best for Trap shooting.

If Winston is up there, and that's 50/50, he's about to get an earful. And I hope Doc drives him crazy.
