Why Ontario is not and will not be attending Sparta. Note 4th thru 6th paragraph.

Paul Shaw, is only the messenger. What He wrote is how the shooters in Ontario Canada view the Sparta location, nothing more nothing less. We should all thank him as a delegate for taking the time to poll his people. The ATA has surely read their opinions. I only hope they do not blow off the criticisms. They maybe should take it as advice.

The rest of the delegates should follow his lead and pose questions to the people that they represent. It could mend some of the fences that have sprung up between the shooters and the leaders. I would hate to see Paul chastised for his honesty. Roger Coveleskie

I really like Paul Shaw and his family that I've met, wonderful people. Paul will always tell it like it is, like it or lump it. If he's chastised for telling the truth, what would that say about those doing the chastising? Well said Paul Shaw.

Yes, I've known Paul over 20 years and besides being a fine shot he's an even greater person. Just so happens he always admired my former All-American son Drew and often said he hoped his own son Drew would would be as good. I got news for all, his son Drew exceded his expectations-great shot and fine kid. That said, I doubt Paul is afraid of repercussions from that article!

Paul is well respected and an Honorable man for being able to step up and tell it like it is without the sugar coating ... The ATA needs a lot more Delegates (BOD) of this caliber who stand up for the people who elected him as their representative ... I have never heard of anyone saying anything bad about the man or the way he represents the shooters from his region, that says a lot ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Paul sure got railroaded when he headed the Oversight Committee.

My personal belief was he was getting too close to uncovering something...That is ONLY my BELIEF.

I cannot believe they did what they did by hiding what was expected of him for so long, and then dropping a bomb on him.

Still, Paul remains a true and trusted fellow by his friends. We need more like Paul !!!

 

They protect their citizens in Canada. Not too worry about the dsp bunch.

 

I too hold Ontario Delegate Paul Shaw in the highest regard. I've heard him speak and seen him in action. Removing him from the Chairmanship of the Financial Accountability Committee was only in the interests of members of the Executive Committee, not in the interests of the ATA membership.

Caution to those who speak up and attempt to do what's best for trapshooting and/or the ATA. In only a few short years several have been ousted who made attempts to move to a more transparent and for the good of the association.

If you have "Nothing to hide, Hide Nothing" ... Not very difficult really if you have "Integrity" and some sense of Moral being ... When people put their faith and trust in you, you are obligated by a Moral obligation to doing the right thing ... Mr.Jim Thompson, Dr Frank Rively, and obviously Paul Shaw are leaps and bounds ahead of the people in control when it comes to "Integrity" so they will not be tolerated to be placed in a position of finding because of their Moral Character ... That is truly SAD to the HIGHEST Degree when you think about it based on the moral substance the ATA once was and was built on and has established in years gone by, now this ... We need people like those mentioned above to right this before its to late and all is lost ... We can once again be in a "Fantastic Direction" or even better than that with the right people in control ... Respectfully, WPT ... (YAC) ... (DSP) ...

 

How can the members remove these people with out killing our organization? I would love to hear Mr. Rivley, Mr. Shaw and Mr. Thompson give a deposition under oath as to what they uncovered. The governing body of 501C corp's would have a hay day with these guys. Anyone have any suggestions? Roger C.

Paul shaw really takes care of theCanadian shooters and he even knows
What goes on all over even the USA.
When the Canadians shoot here his eyes are always open. I saw him
Rush back from shopping in N.Y. When he heard an ambulance
rushing to the shooting grounds in NY. and the sick person was Barney
Ogilvy from Canada. He handled every detail for the wife.
I was standing there and was"amazed at his kindness.

Mr. Paul Shaw, Dr Frank Rively, Mr. Jim Thompson, to name a few do not fit into the slots they were hired or appointed to because they are truly men of Honor and Integrity which is something the EC , ED, and some of the BOD cannot afford to have in their midst being as they and their agenda's would stand the probability of being exposed to the general membership ... Much like Obama should be and needs to be impeached the majority of the EC, ED, and some of the BOD need to be recalled and or impeached also for the betterment of the Association over all ... The problem is the way the ATA EC has structured the procedure it is next to impossible to make that happen ... If the members unite things can be changed and the corruption be eliminated , the sooner that happens the better until then all we can do is sit by and watch it happen ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

My wife and I also were there in NY when Barney went down. I remember well asking where Paul was, and being told about him taking care of business for Barney and his wife. Later Paul told us all about the incident.

Indeed, Paul Shaw is one fine man, in every respect.

Paul Shaw is of worthy of being in the Trapshooting Hall of Fame in my book. Being the man he is has earned him the right.

I am proud to be able to call Paul a friend.

 

If and when the EC and BOD gets men the caliber of Paul Shaw, Dr. Frank Lively, Mr. Jim Thompson to name a few the operational and existing problems from within the ATA will slowly diminish ... These men would influence other men to act with the highest degree of Integrity and Honor ... There would be a transparency like has not existed in a long time because there would be nothing left to hide ... The ATA has driven away shooters in droves , then they wonder why they can't get the shooters to attend some of the shoots like they used to ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Yes. I agree. Paul Shaw should be put in the Hall of Fame. I mean now.not
When it's too late for him and his family to enjoy and celebrate with him.

You are sooooo correct !

This man is of the highest integrity, has put himself into the ATA record books not only with his shooting, but also for what he has done (oh so much) for the shooters throughout the USA and Canada.

I am a US citizen, but I know if the need arose where I needed assistance at a shoot, Paul Shaw would be one of the first to be by my side.

I can only imagine there are others who feel the same way we do about Paul.

Who or what does it take to get Paul Shaw in the HOF? Or Anyone else in the HOF, I feel it is not the EC or BOD but the membership themselves nominating him.

I know for a fact it is the Good Ole boys system to ghet in the OSTA HOF, Why? Because Charlie Pidcock has a lot of wins at the Grand and Ohio State Shoot plus he is still running a gun club yet today. I personally nominated him and gave his achievements and should have been in years ago, I was told he is still on the list to be inducted.

That is a low blow, if you knew the people who donated the Million you would know also that being inducted into the HOF would not of been their reasoning and the last thing they can really care much about ... The Martins do good things for people and get far more recognition than they want many times because good usually comes back to you if and when you do ... Seriously , I feel you should retract what you said unless they told you that they were buying their way in and it only cost a million, they are not that type of people ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Never mentioned anyone. HOF has a $2.1 million building and they need more money. Lots more. Care to donate more to the state of Illinois.

 

The State of Illinois has a HOF building that supposedly cost 2.1 Millions dollars , seems rather over priced even at today's inflated prices ... You do not have to mention any names when only one family donated a million dollars and you made a statement to the effect : "Donate a million dollars and maybe a rule or two can be over looked " ... No need to explain and its a LOW BLOW ... Personally, I would not donate to the ATA, or the HOF based on the internal problems they have and members money being used to feed the fat cats like its a Cash Cow ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

I will ask History Buff to explain the procedure of nomination and how the system supposedly works to get into the THOF.

I do know that Mr. Shaw has been nominated for the induction into the THOF on both his shooting career, and his "Contribution" to the sport.

A young lady I know from Canada was the co-sponsor of his nomination several years ago.

Letters of recommendation sent to The Trap Shooting Hall of Fame are always a good way to support a nominee.

I have written a supporting letter about Mr. Shaw, and I urge anyone who feels the way I do about Mr. Shaw, or any nominee for that matter who you feel worthy of induction, to follow through with a short letter of support.
