I know that the universal bars were a love them/ hate them thing but does anyone know what happened to the company?. I was getting together a spare parts order when I found out they were gone! tmc
I picked up a couple of Universal Charge Bars at an estate sale recently. One was for a progressive MEC and the other was for a single stage MEC.. I have no plans to use them. Contact me if you are interested in either or both of them.
Their gone. I did find a few available on E-bay, but you need to make sure their complete. Someone in Ukraine is producing them if you want to wait on the shipping.
They were never made by Mec. The universal charge bars were made by a Canadian company called Multiscale. Multiscale has gone out of business. Ballistic Products has their own version of adjustable bar for single stage Mec presses called the AdjustaDrop, they sell for about $100
They are a good bar to adjust powder and shot drop better than the mec bushings and bars. If you are familiar with Dillon reloaders for rifle and pistol the design is very similar and accurate. Good luck using whatever you find
Here is another idea that I personally use myself. Its 3D printed but I know this guy, he makes quality stuff, goes the extra mile and I can truly recommend him. I buy many of these to put in my rebuilds. I use one in my Sizemaster at home and it works perfect. Its (3) different shots in one bar, you use your standard Mec Metal Bushings with it.
