I just joined this site today and recall some great names from when I was a pup getting started in a game I just re-found. Morris shot an 1100 very effectively being a noted player in the 60's and 70's. At the time 1100's were not a high level piece of equipment but Morris showed otherwise.

Leo, Also shot 1100's He had a trunk full of them. But leo could have shot a broom stick if it could have been loaded.
I think he was driving an old early model olds at the time. Brad should remember. Roger C.

I gave Leo a 302 in 1983 0r 1984 when I worked for Beretta. His 1100's were stolen from his van in Arizona at some shoot. Not at the club but at a Mexican Restaurant. T how Leo became a Beretta shooter. Remington didn't offer him a free gun, could be why they are gone today, bad thinking at the management level.

Old 1 Eye I can never remember Leo shooting a Ljutic and I know he never owned one. Back in the day though we would often shoot a round with different guns so I wouldn't say he never shot one, just never owned one. He shot Beretta from the time i gave him the 302 until he died.

I miss understood, We made that tape at the Silver Dollar in about 1983 or so. Back then it took us 3 days of videoing and 1 day at the studio.

In 1975 a very young, wet behind the ears ATA shooter went to Florida to a car shoot at the Cigar City Gun Club in Tampa. It was a 200 bird handicap for a car of some sort and they had guns for other prizes, also a yardage calcutta. I broke a 98 from 26 1/2 yards and won the first 100, I broke a 93 the 2nd 100 for a 191. Morris broke a 94 and then a 99, which was unheard of in 1975 from a 27 yard shooter I have since found out, to take MY car. Good times. Morris was a hell of a good guy and is one of the ones I miss.

I shot with Morrie when he and his brother ran a huge hog farm in ILL. before they moved to FL. I was on the Base Skeet team at Chanute AFB ILL. and Lloyd Woodhouse was our team captain. Morrie would come out to the Base Gun Club to practice. When he FIRST started out he shot an 870 for singles and caps and an 1100 for doubles . Morrie Talked me into shooting registered Trap and I often kidded him about being the reason for all the money I spent ! Morrie shot several different guns over the years. A really sad fact, Morrie has accomplished more that ANY FL. shooter EVER DID and his name has been in the ATA Hall of Fame for years but, a few SOUR PUSSES at the BIG DOLLAR did not like him and have fought tooth and toe nail to deny him a place in the FL. Hall of fame. Pretty Chicken $#!t IMO !

You are soo right, unless you are a member of the $$ clique--forget about making any Fl Hall of Fame-- the Fl State Trap Assoc--should change its name to the Silver Dollar Trap Shooting Assoc----

How many years do you have to shoot as a FLA. resident to be able to be inducted into the H.O.F.? Roger C.

I'm not sure but there have several who lived in FL a lot less have been put in the FL HOF and Morrie lived in FL the largest part of his life and more than 40 YEARS ! The fact that that he has been blocked from FL HOF of fame status has NOTHING to do with his years in FL, and EVERYTHING to do with Cheap politics !

Other states have people inducted to their HOF's , not just based on their shooting ability

    have
Maybe so but if their shooting accomplishment HAD ANYTHING to do with it Morrie would out shine them all in the state of FL. The bottom line here is that Morrie is one of the finest IF NOT THE FINEST shooter ever to reside here and a bunch of cliquesh sour pusses who disliked him have so far prevented him from getting added to the FL HOF of which he is more than deserving and I think that is pretty cheap and small of them ! Moorie was sort of like Donald Trump. Very plain spoken and some saw him as gruff but NONE of them will ever match what he accomplished in the sport !
