Cardinal Center not invited to Exec Meeting - MTA requests top of the list

The minutes from the ATA Executive Meeting in August reflects that the MTA requested to be put at the top of the list if the Grand is relocated.

I asked Luke at the Cardinal Center if they were invited.

Answer: “No. We weren’t invited.”

 

Might just be a Blessing in disguise, except for a few problems with the shot curtains Cardinal Center seems to be doing quite well ... If they want to start a war they could have an unregistered Handicap shoot against the grand, put the money they would pay the ATA for their blessing and BS trophy's into added money and they might drag in bigger numbers ... This almost happened out at the Old Phoenix Club one year when the ATA started making ridiculous demands for the club to host the Spring Grand ... Kaiser didn't sleep well for a few days that time, he did learn they are not the only game in town though ... The EC , John Norris, and Good Ol Boys club ( BOD ) didn't get catered to either, they didn't participate in the shoot offs like they are supposed to but we got it done without them in our way ... They did lose a $600 radio that the club had to pay for and they claimed we didn't pay the ATA fees so we paid them twice but it was well worth it to keep them the hell out of our way ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Sounds like a great ideal to me. I would definitely drive 5 hours to shoot at the Cardinal for $$. I like to shoot the Grand wherever it is. I love the targets, staff, and atmosphere at the Cardinal and would definitely skip the Grand for a big money shoot. Bring it on I'm in !!!!

 

I think a handicap event would be great. If you could have enough added money and maybe something big ie side by side, four wheeler, or shotgun to give to winner for top prize. Also just pay places, no categories and a mandatory Lewis. I think it would draw more than the Grand Handicap.
